Artax swept into the desert and snow-filled terra, hoof beats slamming against the ground in rhythmic beats. Mane swept the blue skies like a banister brush, tail like a castle's banner-proud and high. The sun bounced of his dark mahogany pelt, jumping back into the sky once more. He slid to a stop near a large boulder, and leapt upon it. The stallion rose into a defying rear, forelegs clinging to the skies. Daggers struck the sky, and he landed once more. He would've remained, but something told him that Kalari would be eager to meet the new herd member, Briony. He turned to see where Briony was. She would be anticipating the meeting of Kalari, also.

Briony trotted eagerly after Artax, wanting to see what her new home would look like, and above all, meet Kalari. She slowed to a walk as she entered her new home, awed by it's strange beauty. She had never seen anything like this before! She saw Artax up ahead, standing on a rock. Well, a boulder relly. She knew what one looked like from her old home. She walked up to Artax, feeling small beneath the endless blue sky that streched above her as far as she could see. 'Is this it?' she asked Artax. 'It's very...big!' She looked around her, taking in the sights. 'And strangely beautiful.' she told him.

He picked his way through the desert grasses and jagged rocks covered by millions of meters of sand. Except it wasn't sand at the moment. A think mixture of sand and snow had replaced it. The wind ruffled his bay coat. Head bobbed along with his easy pace, stepping a little higher than usual. Who wouldn't step higher? Knowing if you had a new reason to love, you'd step higher too. He lovingly nuzzled her, before granting an answer to her question. "The beauty of one is marveled by another, especially us." Artax whinnied to another horse approaching, hopefully Kalari.

Briony nuzzled him back, before noticing another horse trotting through the sand/snow mixture towards them. She almost danced on the spot; she was so excited, she wished and wished and wished that it was Kalari. She was concentrating so much on being excited she forgot that the sands were not as stable as the earth outside, promptly lost her footing and went crashing to the ground. She got up quickly and hoped no one had noticed; turning towards Artax, she asked, 'Is that Kalari?' She bobbed her head as she moved gracefully to Artax's side to await the coming of the other horse.

Kalari
Kalari heard the noise; she had been feeding when she had to lift her dark head to scan her large black eyes across her land to settle upon her loved one and another. Snorting she flicked her eyes uncertainly before moving into a swift trot. From when they had arrived; when she had hurt her leg; she had almost doubled in size from their unborn foal and her leg had healed wonderfully.
She neighed to the pair; pricking her ears towards them. She was now a dark dun colour; her black points spread up her legs and face making her look even more beautiful; her amazingly long mane almost met her upper leg; and her tail - when not in carrage scraped the mixed sand and snow.
Slowing to a walk and finally a stop infront of the pair she snorted very loudly and nuzzled Artax' neck before reaching out her muzzle to the mare in friendly greeting.

He chuckled at the mare's foolish mistake. But that was life was, wasn't it? Mistake after mistake, only to learn how to do something better the next time. The arab stallion pretended to no see her crash to the ground, he did not believe in crowding a mare, or any being, twenty-four seven.
His head turned to see his one and only lead, Kalari, to wander over to him. She looked truly radiant, her dun pelt sparkling beautifully. Artax nuzzled her lovingly, gently nipping her toned neck.
The stallion whispered to her. "How are you, 'mdear?"
His orbs wandered over to Briony, making sure she was O.K. a soft smile erupted.
"Kalari, this is Briony. Briorny, this is Kalari."

Kalari... Briony looked over at the other mare and a smile, unbidden but always welcome, arose onto her maw. She's beautiful! Briony thought as she looked over at Kalari. 'Hello, I'm Briony...' She reached out with her muzzle to greet the other mare, and instinctively knew they would be friends. Briony looked over at Artax, and smiled. She had a stallion, who was kind, and caring, and loving, and another mare who would hopefully be her friend; she felt she needed another mare to talk to, especially with the foal developing in her stomach. She would be glad for some female company. She moved over to Artax, and nuzzled him. 'It will all work out, I'm sure of it!' she whispered to him. 'She's gorgeous...'

Kalari
Kalari snorted; nuzzling Artax once more before blowing warm air through her nostrils onto the mare. "It is a pleasure" he voice slipped out soft and smooth. "Briony; that is a lovely name" she said quietly; "I welcome you happily to our home .... your home." she said stopping talking; wondering if she had been rambling. ooc: Sorry for the delay!
He smiled at the two mares chattering happily. The warm touch and gentle words told him that yes, everything was going to be okay. The following months would bring them two foals, two perfect little foals. His triangular auds swiveled on top of his cranium, listening to natures calming noises. The bay arabian stallion loved spring, the ice had melted, leaving fragrant grasses and sunny days. Just perfect.

Briony smiled happily at Kalari. 'Thank you; I think your name is a very pretty one. I think I shall enjoy it here; it is so beautiful, and open.' She looked at Artax; he seemed happy things were going so well between them. She smiled, and nuzzled him gently. 'See? I told you everything would be fine!' She turned back to Kalari, and nuzzled her like a friend would. 'I'm sure it will alll be great!' Just then she noticed that Kalari was pregnant; just like her! 'When will you foal?' she asked politely. [ooc:]flick, I've gotten the stats for Artax and Briony's foal, and that was really bad...sorry...

Kalari
Kalari nodded and snorted loudly. "Thank you; and yes it is indeed beautiful and quiet here" she replied; she pondered a moment before replying to the second statement; more of a question really. "I'm expecting any day; what of you?" she asked politely.
The sun had appeared today and now the mixture of sand and snow began to fade; leaving the golden white sand alone. She cast her eyes to the sky she flicked her tail, she was indeed round, and extremely happy waiting for their foal to come.
Pains surged through her back and neck; but she ignored them as they were in conversation; she kicked out comically at her stomach and flicked her ears back. "Sorry, if you do not mind, I think I shall find somewhere quiet to rest" she said moving away. "I shall return in a couple of hours." She moved completely away from them; not wanting them to see her in such pain as she gave birth and knew that if she did not leave now they would be around.
She moved to wards the paradise that sat in the middle of the sparse sand covered mountains; she found the small group of trees she had investigated not so long ago and knew there was a small hidden glade inside. When she reached this and was sure that no other equine was around; and that no predator was waiting she lay down. Breathing heavily; she let the pain coarse through her; she knew the foal was in the right position; and it slipped out easily. The birth was over before it had started.
Now grunting loudly she rolled herself up off her side into an upright positing and looked at the foal with interest; her ears pricked and eyes bright. Putting out her two forelegs she grunted again loudly as she steadily rocked herself up onto her unstable legs. Turning around to face the foal her legs collapsed. But this time she was close enough to groom the small newborn. As her eyes wondered over the foal; she realized it was a colt, almost black in color; but she could see a darker line spreading down his back and knew he would be matching to his mother. Once He was breathing easily and was getting ready to stand. She prepared herself to stand once more, showing the colt how to stand.
once the pair were standing, she finished grooming him and nudged him to the direction in which her teats were so he could feed. Once he had had his fill; she allowed him to collapse again to sleep for an hour or so; then she would take the little feller to meet his herd.

He happily arrived to find the dun and her foal. She was standing protectively over their bundle of joy, who happened to be fast asleep. The bay arab stallion slowed his pace, careful not to wake the foal. He gently siddled up to Kalari, his dun arab lead, gently stroking her golden pelt. "How are you my love?" His brown orbs baked in the foal's coat, just like it's mother. Artax corrected himself. Just like his mother's. Yes, he had another colt. Two sons, two perfect little sons. He smiled, waiting for his son to rise.

Briony trotted up to where Artax and Kalari were standing, with Kalari's newborn foal at their feet. She put her muzzle out towards Kalari's in a friendly greeting. Her eyes, though, were drawn to the little bundle of fur laying on the ground. She saw it stand up; she saw the slightly masculine aspects of its form and concluded that it was a colt. 'He's beautiful... What did you name him?' she asked Kalari.

Kalari & Foal
Kalari looked up at them sharply. "I erm...." she paused watching them for a moment; she stood slightly over the sleeping colt protectively. "He will be named Broken Arrow." She said softly. "Arrow for short" She said pushing her muzzle to the foal to wake him.
Arrow lifted his head and blinked looking firstly at his mother who he nuzzled before letting his eyes flick to the other two. he scrambled to his feet quickly and hid behind his mother - still unsteady on his feet.

He gazed lovingly at his son. His pelt was just like his mother's, just as beautiful. The bay arab's eyes wandered over to Kalari standing protectively over their son. Arrow... He murmured. letting the name slip and slide over his tongue. Artax looked up at his lead. "I'm glad you are OK, m'dear." He looked at his son once more, who had now risen to hide behind his mother. He chuckled. "Come here, young Arrow. Come meet your sire."

Briony stood back, and let Artax and Kalari talk. She had seen the foal, and knew it was a colt. Brior pushed against her legs, wanting to meet the new foal, but she calmed him with a soft push and a few words. 'Just wait, dear, you will get to play later.' She heard him whining, and glanced once more at Artax and Kalari before moving him away from them, to avoid disruption. 'Brior, please pay attention! I don't want you cavorting around and disrupting the reunion!' She glanced over her shoulder once more before turning back to Brior. He had the grace to look suitably chastened before cantering over to a nearby tree and trying to climb it. Briony sighed, and resigned herself to watching the mischevious colt.

Kalari
Kalari snorted incredibly loud. "Go on; meet your father" she said moving to one side and nudging his softly to encourage him. She moved away from the pair to wards Briony. "Your son; is indeed handsome" she said softly reaching her muzzle out to the other mare. "Was the birth alright?" she asked softly watching with some amusement; the colt.
Broken Arrow
The colt looked at his mother and then at the large stallion which stood before him; he took one shaky step forward to wards his father. "hello" he said in a deeper version of his mothers soft; sweet voice. The colt stood with his legs slightly parted; keeping himself up and stretched his muzzle out comically to wards his father.

The loud snort bought the stallion out of his dreamy trance. He watched with a wise smile across his maw as the young dun colt shakily moving towards him. Somewhere within the young animal cam a voice, a sound so sweet and melodic as his mother's and just as loving. Smiling, the bay arab stallion bent down to eye level with his son. There was a twitter from a bird, somewhere, announcing the arrivals of the tow princes, the two princes to rival any other. Together, they would rule, brother and brother. And together they would make history. History sired by him.

Briony smiled softly at Kalari, and returned with a nuzzle of her own. 'Thank you...he is indeed mischevious! The birth went fine; I am glad it did, for it let me come here, with my son, to see your handsome little foal!' She looked at Artax welcoming his other son, and felt a warming in her heart. This had become her home;and she loved it so! Her attention was called back to Brior when she heard a loud thump and a little whinny. She looked over at him, only to see him sprawled out on the ground after tripping over a rock. She looked bemusedly at Kalari and trotted over to him.

Kalari Kalari nodded; allowing her long cascading black hair fall over her eyes. "Your little one seems to be enjoying himself." She said watching his mother make her way over to her foal. She sighed, she hoped the two of them would get on - that is once Arrow is strong enough.
She had wanted to wait for a time before introducing him; have him to herself for a time - but that hadn't happened. Now with sad eyes; concealed by her long falling locks; she glanced from the proud mother and foal to her beloved stallion. she didn't move; but let the sun sink into her her golden colored coat.
Her jet colored locks and her dark legs were now shining; she had finally got her condition back.
Broken Arrow the colt snorted again and nuzzled his father. "I am not like you; I'm my mothers son" he said in surprising wisdom. He glanced at his mother; wondering when she would let him play; run; feed and finally sleep. He yawned and rubbed himself against his fathers legs. "Broken Arrow? My name is.... Broken Arrow" he said repeating his name; getting used to it.
He was unusually muscled for a new born; he was tall and strong looking; even slight lanky in height. He was going to be tall - and if he filled out; he would be stocky; tall and strong. and not only that; he would turn out to be handsome - hopefully.....

He smiled down at the colt as he lovingly rubbed himself against the stallion's well toned legs. For such a young animal, Arrow sure had his father's looks. The Arab stallion lowered his head and gently caressed the foal laughing softly at the colt's new-found wisdom. With a soft voice like velvet, he replied to his son.
"Indeed you are-and that is good. There must be balance in this world."
Artax glanced over to his lead. Perhaps he had arrived too soon. Her sad eyes dulled his raging spirit. He moved elegantly over to the mares.
"I'll be leaving now-it looks like you need some time alone."
