Settle down then move on, just like being a bachelor again !
Cody struggled slightly with the rocky terrain, but he found it even more amusing to watch Frothy barrel her way up to meet Light. As he got his bearings on a ledge he laughed as he watched Frothy make her way to his side.
"Lights just up ahead, we only have to go through the cave on the next ledge. This foal shall have the stamina of a mountain pony and muscles to out do one with our breeding, my love." he smiled as he nuzzled her.
She was sweating while he was still rather cool, obviously she would be in need of water when they arrived. As they continued to make their way up to Light he stumbled but quickly regained his bearings, it was nothing more than a stupid lose rock. When they came to the end of the cave out from the other end they had to travel through a valley in which you could hear the echo of any cry or hoof step. It seemed just how he had imagined Rosemonts old herd territory before he had even created his own! As a smirk grew on his maw he heard Light say that they had arrived and heard her gallop off toward Waterfall.
The scent was clear, it had never been claimed before. The air crisp. A flowing river ran threw the area from the mountains and plenty of vegetation grew around them, the flowers were starting to flower and the scent they gave off was magnificent! All his senses were tantalized! It was so colorful compared to what you would think it to be, for the exterior that confronts you to get here was plain. Nothing but dust and rocks with the odd cactus here and there. Of course the mountains were much more plentiful as you got closer, covered in bushes or anything else during other seasons. It was magical and could see why Rosemont had claimed.
"There you go my love. Fresh flowing water to quench your dying thirst." he said with a smile as he walked over to the river.
When he had drank deep and ate a little he came to realize that Rosemont and the lead were not here so he thought that he should ask.
"Light, where is your father?? and the lead mare?" he asked as he looked around the area.
Then he remembered that he knew not where Caleb and Chace where but he had a hunch. Although he did doubt that it would be very accurate seeing as they can be very unpredictable. [/color] |

Standing still was easy, eating was easy, walking was hard and climbing was back breaking. At feeling a kick she knew it was now time to foal. "Light!" she nickered soothingly "I am about to foal, get the lead or Frosty." As she surveyed around her she smiled at a spot to bring her foal into the world, under a juniper tree in full bloom. Not a scream of agony left her muzzle no cry for help. Stedying her breathing was simple and she pushed with all her mount and within four, perhaps five pushes she could now see the foal. "Well somebody was anxious to see her mother." and with that said she nuzzled her baby with a smile and heaved herself up with the energy she had from the amount of food she had eaten before hand.
"Light, meet your half sister. What shall we name her ??" she asked with a massive grin on her maw. "How about, Sundawn." she smiled as she looked at her little palomino pinto, with such a weird mane tail and marking.
The sun hit her eyes but she embrassed it with ease. her coat embodied the light and her coat was a palomino pinto with such soft blue eyes yet from what she could see she had a dorsal stripe and a black tail, perhaps a black mane too. "Mum. ...." she paused looking up at Waterfall then to her half sister to continue, "sister ...." then a smile as her optics watched her mum get up so she tried it too. Cutely bouncing up then falling back down to the ground. She shook the dirt from her face and coat with a smile and neigh then got the feeling in her hooves. So she bucked herself up and bounced onto her tender young hooves, she was standing now for walking, she slowly took her time to walk up to her mother. Then nuzzling underneath her mother to gather some milk. First tug and victory she could sukle till she was full. [/color] |

She done as she was told and watched new life be born, Waterfall had her foal and perhaps she would foal during night as is tradition for her family.
"I congratulate you Waterfall. Shes a fine unique filly, you should be very proud !!" with a smile she walked away and walked toward Cody.
"As is tradition in my family that a pregnant mare shall foal at night, and I want you to be there when I do." she smiled at him and knelt her head down to eat the grass beneath her. Tonight she would foal.
Later that night
Frothy woke from a dead sleep, and her breathing was heavy.
"Cody wake up the foals going to arrive." she said above a whisper, barely.
Then she slightly kicked him and she comfort herself for labor. The foal had kicked its way into birthing Position and it was time for her to catch deep breaths and push with all her might. At steadying her breathing the foals hooves were visible then with few hard pushes she could see half of the foal then with further more the foal was at its fathers side and being cleaned by him.
"Andreas... that shall be his name, its modern yet traditional." she smiled at Cody then heaved herself to her feet.
At least now Light had a younger half sister to protect and Sundawn had a playmate. She was proud, she was stunning, with a build of Andalusian yet the eyes and spirit of an Walker.
"Shes stunning. Lets hope Rosemont will allow her to stay." she sighed as she stood so tried her foal, with little effort but she got up and stood for a little while until she tried to walk and fell down. She laughed and found it adorable then nuzzled her daughter to her feet,
"Once more, come suckle." she smiled at her and with that she tried again. Success, a tug and pull she knelt her maw down to her and she blew a bubble of milk. Cheeky. [/color] |

Swining On A Star
Standing on a ledge; alone. She watched the stars above her and flicked her eyes down to the ground below. She wondered where Rosemont and the rest of the herd were. She had been standing here alone since early morning and now it was the dead of night. She had left the herd in good spirits; and now she wondered where they were.
Snorting loudly; she flicked her ears listening to all the sounds of the night. She stood at her full height and let her tail be swept away on the slight spring wind. She knew her scent would be carried away to other stallions. She was in heat and she knew this would likely cause trouble on her new herds part or rather Rosemonts. But she didnt care. Not now; she stood alone, letting the surrounds carry her away into a dream. ooc: a random post i know  |

The dun trot in under the cover of night. Listening to all the sounds of night. One sound very unfirmiliar, perhaps his foal had arrived. Then he noticed his stunning lead. So a nicker flew toward her, "My dear. Up so late. Looks as if plenty has gone on within our absence. " he smiled with his coat shining through the pit of darkness. Soon he spotted Waterfall with a little figure by her side and he instinctivly knew that it was his daughter... he was so happy. Now he could smell Star was in heat and soon she would expect the bond to be done.
He rose into a rear and called out for his herd. He bore a huge smile on his maw. "My herd, awake and come to my call !!!" Then remembered that the mares may need to sleep as they have just birthed to adorable foals. Turning to Star he smiled, "Come morning, you joining the herd shall be sealed." he nuzzled her with a light kiss. Rosemont moved with ease down to Waterfall where she slept with their foal so he awoke their daughter. "What did your mother name you ?? What can your father call you ..." he smiled at her and hugged her. She was stunning with a resemblence of her mother yet an unusual coat, classic paint then with a mustang cross mane and tail. But he loved her and so to obviously did Light. [/color] |

Cody was as per usual raising his foal, cleaning her and protecting her. "She's beautiful and the name fits her well." few words were said that night of her being born.
Andreas was now at least a few months old. Cody felt older too ! "Its been days. Rosemont comes and goes, why does he not stay ?! He has a herd to raise yet he travels. " he said with a sturn voice. "CALEB, CHACE !" he called for sharply. "Find Swinging on a Star & Rosemont. either of you. Just bring them to their lands once more !!" he said rather agitated by the flies. He new his daughter would comfort him as too would Frothy. But he came to join a herd rather than run his own, yet he was running another stallions herd instead.... just my luck! but it teaches me to care for everyone as is a lone stallions job to protect the herd when the leads are not around. STILL, it would be nice for a break !! he thought to himself not ammused.
Frothy glanced at everyone, noticed that Cody was really really really agitated. She didn't blame him. "Come along Andreas, looks as if your father needs a hug!" she smiled to her daughter then nudged her forward towards Cody. She smiled as she trotted toward him, lightly her hooves curessed the ground. "You dont like running a herd then I take it beloved." she joked as she nuzzled him. "Chace, Caleb ... the fastest should find Rosemont, seeing as he is a Thoroughbred. The other Swinging on a Star ... shes an Arabian and shouldn't take as long to track down and bring back." she nodded to them. Her daughter pressing her underbelly for milk. "Go ahead Andreas." she lowered her maw and smiled at her daughter.
Andreas, that was her name. Her coat ... she didn't actually know. When her mother noted her father was upset she was quick on the mark to give him a hug, she was good at hugs. "Daddy !! I love you. Daddy, where is Rosemont and the others ?? Waterfall sticks near the water, Sundawn on the mountainsides more or less, Light grazes and runs around everywhere ... where do I fit in ??" she nuzzled her father ... he could always answer her puzzling questions. Then rearing slightly to get up to her fathers withers she hugged him, it looked like a human version of a horse hug, she wasn't exactly as tall as her father yet but she would be !! "CHACE, CALEB, LIGHT, SUNDAWN and Waterfall !!!" she called out. She often did it just to see if they answered her with a cheery tone, nobody could ever be mad at her she was just so happy and hyper all the time !! "Mummy, will I have another sibling next Summer ??" she asked, she did want a sister just somebody she was related to and could play with !! She had no siblings while Sundawn had a half sister which was good enough. Plus other siblings that are even Lights half brothers !!
She wanted that too... she wanted a sibling... even if it was a brother !!
Caleb and Chace both raised their heads swiftly. It was Cody. They had gotten themselves a search and return quest. Quickly they got to work figuring out who should go after who. They decided as they cantered out of the area. "Chace you go look for Star... I'll look for Rosemont!" Caleb said being rather bossy. As Caleb made off Chace was left with his assignment, not that he mind that he had to get Star afterall she was a kind right just leader but he had no clue where to look for her. He figured like last time she would be found at a high point .... but where ?! they were in the mountains and surrounded by them at that !! He just thought he better start using his nose and let his hooves pick up into a gallop or canter at least.
they both moved out of this thread into the others ... just give them a neigh!
