The palomino looked a bit torn, looking from her siblings and then over her shoulder, to where the mares would undoubtedly be waiting. However, after a moment, she spoke a bit hesitantly.
"I-i think I might like to stay out a little while, Father," she said, gaining resolve as she spoke. Lute had not played out in the night ever since she and her sister had been left out all on their own... her days had been taken up with taking care of her boisterous twin and staying alive herself, both of which were no small feats considering how young both of them were, and nights were spent with her eyes screwed shut, trying to keep away bad memories of the humans who had come like demons when all was dark. She had all rights to have a phobia of the dark, and yet for once her sister's words hit home, and she realized that she hadn't had a good bit of fun in... a bit.
L'Arachel grinned at her sister, but suddenly turned and nipped the leggy bay colt beside her.
"Catch me if you can!" she shouted, promptly setting off at a gallop into the forest. Before she got too far, she made sure to add over one shoulder, "Don't worry, Father, we'll stay with Storm the whole time!"
"L'Arachel!" Lute cried in exasperation, setting off at a slightly more unsteady canter after her sorrel twin, who was nearly a reddish speck between the trees by now. Undoubtedly L'Arachel was the faster twin.

Summer Storm
Bobbing his head; he looked at his father; moving back towards him once again. he jumped slightly at his sisters nip; and turned to look at her and Lute make of for awhile before turning to look once more at his father. "Understood" He said before turning swiftly on his haunches and taking after his sisters; bounding over fallen logs; and weaving in and out of the trees easily. Pricking his ears; he lengthened his stride; catching up easily first with Lute; who he nudged softly before tossing his head and whinnying; then catching up with her twin, he nipped her gently on the rump. "Tag!" he shouted.

[OOC: Changing the color of Lute's text because I just realized how impossible it is to read against this green background xD]
Lute found herself feeling slightly put out as she was left behind her sister and brother, both of whom tended to be out and about more than she.
Adding a spurt of speed to her wobbly legs, her gallop steadied and her stride lengthened. She was soon going to catch up to her sorrel twin, although L'Arachel happened to be running faster as well, in order to catch up to Summer Storm.
The sorrel filly reached out her nose to see if she could tag her brother before he passed her, but by the time she thought of it he was already too far ahead. Turning for a moment, she tossed a glance over her shoulder to see her sister catching up, slowly but steadily. Grinning enormously, L'Arachel faced back front, but shouted into the air, "Betcha can't catch me!" It was a shame that she was too full of adrenaline to hear her twin mutter, "I bet I can..."

Summer Storm
Summer Storm tossed his head excitedly; he steadied himself before turning swiftly on his haunches and making his way back to Lute; where he turned once more before matching his stride to hers.
"Go for it" he said; whispering in her ear as he moved forward away from her. He jumped over a large log in order to avoid a large tree. he stretched forward into a flat out gallop; his long legs stretching comically out in front of him. As he moved to jump yet another large log; he spotted something out of the corner of his eye; having mis judged the log; he tried to slide to a stop; but instead he fell over onto his side and crashed into the solid log.

"Storm!" Lute screamed, clearly terrified. The palomino raced forward, outstripping her sister by far, to her brother's side. Only a few seconds ago, she would have been gloating, but the filly's heart pounded in her mouth as she raced towards the bay colt.
She barely managed to skid to a non-hazardous stop across the slick, wet leaves that covered the forest floor. Internally, she was panicking, and terrible thoughts and imaginings filled her head until she was unable to do anything but stand right where she was and worry.
The better-built filly caught up to her twin quite easily, shaking her head at her sister's trembling, delicate form and chuckling under her breath, for she knew that if she laughed outrightly, her sister would most likely get into her righteously angry mode.
"You worry too much, Lute," L'Arachel teased cheerfully. "Storm is all right!" Turning away and shaking her head, the sorrel muttered to herself, "She beats me and all she can do is worry! Hunh!"

Summer Storm
Storm lifted his head; he was laying stretched out on his side. He looked at Lute and then at her sister. He grunted rolling himself up onto his body; off his side. There he stayed till his head stopped spinning, his eyes blinking rapidly. He sighed loudly stretching out his forelegs and scrambling to stand up.
He grunted loudly as he lifted himself into an unsteady stand still. "I'm fine" he said slightly shaken as he stood; his head lowered almost to the floor; legs spread widely and shook his body to rid himself from the dust. As the cloud rose from his body he looked at Lute and her sister. "I'm fine" he repeated once more. He took no notice of the blood that ran from his shoulder and the pain the coursed through his back. He mentioned nothing of his bad eye sight, his back pain or the fact that he could not hear properly. "don't mention this to anyone; I cut my shoulder of a branch; thats all."

The bay colt's words were apparently less than reassuring to Lute. The Quarter Horse filly quickly began to panic and fret, as she would.
"Ohmigoodness!" she cried, all in one breath. "B-b... But, but what if it's something serious, what if you're really hurt! Look, you're bleeding all over, you look just terrible, oh really, Storm, we should go get Mother, or Father, or someone.. Oh.." The panicked palomino turned to her twin, crying, "Oh, L'Arachel, you should go get Mother or Father or Aunty Ambrosia!" Her breath came hard, and tears of worry stung at her eyes as her fretting mind ran through all the terrible possibilities of what might happen to her brother if they didn't get help...
The sorrel bit her lip, worrying a bit herself, although she did want to scoff a bit at her worry-wart twin, panic-stricken at the smallest thing, as usual. However, this time, she was reluctant to admit that her sister was right... Summer Storm really did look terrible. He looked quite shaky and off-balance.
"All right," she sighed after a moment. Casting a worried glance at her brother while her sister was occupied, she quickly turned and set off at a gallop, weaving gracefully in between the trees.

Summer Storm
Summer Storm shook his head; making himself dizzy. "No wait!" she said calling after the filly. "Please; wait." He said his tone desperate. "I am fine; there is nothing they can do anyway; you will only make them worry." he stopped talking and looked at his shoulder; it had already began to dry and had now almost stopped bleeding.
The pain however did not stop as easily. But he was sure with a few days rest or even weeks he would be fine. "I wont return back; however i am going to find a nice place to rest - away from the elders."

The palomino twin looked even more alarmed and distraught at her brother's words. "Y-you... you're going to run away?" she gasped, looking astonished and almost scandalized. However, after a moment, she shook the thoughts from her head firmly, and tried her best to breathe more deeply. A strange calm stole over the filly's shuddering body.
"I can't stop you," Lute said in a very small, but also surprisingly calm, voice. "And I wouldn't, either. But don't you think it would be best if you let Mother and Father know where you are?" She could imagine how worried Broken Dreams and Tachyon would be if the twins can back, but not Summer Storm...
L'Arachel skidded to a stop at her brother's call. As she came back to her sister, worrying and fretting and bewailing her brother as usual, the sorrel could do nothing but grin rather wearily.
"Storm's big enough to be on his own," she told her twin chidingly, with a rather large grin. "I think it would be fun, to get away for a little bit, maybe. I almost envy you." Of course, she really didn't. Imagine, such an injury would stop one from being able to run for... perhaps weeks! She shook her head, shuddering at the very thought. How terrible that would be, to have to lie still for so long...

Summer Storm
Summer Storm snorted lightly; touching his muzzle to both fillies in turn, firstly Lute then her sister. "I wont leave for good" He said. "I will however ask one of you to fetch father and not to tell him anything that has happened; or any of the others." He looked at both of them. "There is a place not far from here which is safe for me to rest. I will speak to father and then leave for a time. I will then return to you two when i am better" He said letting his quivering muzzle run over Lute's Back.
"Thank you for your concern." He said softly; his body shook from the pain, but now his shoulder was almost unbearably stiff. He moved over to his other sister and lifted his muzzle to her face and blew his warm, soft breath onto her face. "Now do not fret, please" he said another desperate note creeping back into his voice.

Lute was more distraught then ever at this news... it was clear that she wasn't going to be able to persuade him, and that her sister was helping, either!
"It would not be fun, it would be dangerous! Just think about it! And you all injured! There are dangerous predators out there! Imagine what they could do to you!" she wailed, pleading with both her sister, who looked as if she might just want to go along with Summer Storm just for the adventure, and her brother. Terrible images of the mangled bodies of a bay colt and a sorrel filly drifted across her eyesight, and she shuddered again.
The rambunctious sorrel, for once, stopped to think. It was true that there were cougars out there, that it was a dangerous world. But it was also an exciting world, one full of adventure and new horses to meet and endless space to run and play!
"Ignore that fretting little thing," she said cheerfully to her brother. "Go on! Lucky you, getting to go out all on yoru own! Don't worry, I'll tell Father... most likely Lute will make sure of it." The palomino twin nodded resolutely.
"We should at least let an adult know!" the filly said, bristling at L'Arachel as she merely chuckled.
"Go on," L'Arachel said once again, her eyes shining with excitement even though it was Summer Storm who was going away. "But you must tell me all about it when you get back!"

Summer Storm
The colt looked from one sister to the other. "As i would love to just leave and sort myself put." he paused a moment. "Lute is right to some degree; but i must speak to father myself" he said finally.
He moved from the pair to a small clearing near by; he had found it earlier in the day. He limped into it and lay down; wincing slightly at the pain. but said nothing to the sisters. He lay down; closing his eyes slightly he sighed; his leg had now stopped bleeding; but he began to stiffen up and knew that if he didn't rest and move soon he wouldn't be able to move for days.

Lute bit her lip worriedly, staring at the slender gap in between two ancient oak trees where her brother had slipped into, almost willing him to come back out and say that he was just kidding, that he wouldn't go away after all, that, of course it was a silly idea, did they really think that he would ever do it? But, after a few moments, there was no sound other than the wind rustling the leaves of the surrounding trees and berrybushes. Night was here, finally... all creamy traces of the sunset had gone from the sky, and it was now a serene navy blue, glittering with white-gold stars. She knew that if she and her sister didn't get back to the adults soon enough, they might be in danger of falling and injuring themselves as well.
The sorrel watched her sister get lost in thought, as usual. Although she hated to admit it, she usually hung on her sister's decisions, since her palomino twin was far more likely to come up with a plan that was logical and very safe. And, all in all, considering the events of today, and the events of her life in general, it might be best to go with whatever safe route Lute decided to go with.
L'Arachel shivered a bit, glancing around her. Autumn was coming on fast, she knew. Nights were getting cooler and longer... and soon it would be winter. But then it would be spring again, and she and her sister would be a full year old. This thought cheered her up a bit, but before she could ruminate any more, her sister's voice, surprisingly strong, broke her out of her thoughts.
"You should go, then," Lute said firmly. "Go get Father. Please." The filly opened her mouth to say something back, but, suddenly deciding against it, took off instead, weaving gracefully through the trees. And then she was gone, leaving the palomino alone.

[OOC: Sorry for not replying in this thread in over a month Anywho, I'll just say that Tachyon disappeared and L'Arachel can't find him? So then Passion Forest will be open for claiming once again, and Summer Storm, Lute, and L'Arachel will just be stuck herdless once again?] Sweat streaked the sorrel's thin, heaving sighs as she ran, harder and harder. She'd been running, searching, shouting for over an hour... two hours. Why couldn't she find anyone? Why wasn't anyone around? There were no adults... nowhere... not anywhere... her head was pounding, her vision was spinning... where was everyone, she needed help... suddenly, her feet were flying out from under her...
Thud. Blackness.
It was nearly dawn when the small, shaking filly awoke on her side, all alone, in the middle of the forest. However, light was streaking the sky, and, although it took a few moments, L'Arachel began to regain her bearings on her surroundings.
And that was when she remembered all the happenings of the previous night.
Panicking, she rose on heavily trembling legs. What should I do? Lute's been alone all night... but I can probably find Father and go back to them! Her eyes grew wide again. Where is Father, anyways? Some of last night's panic returned to her small head, making it pound. Why couldn't I find him?
It took her longer than she would have liked, but L'Arachel eventually made it back to where she'd left Lute last night. "I'm sorry." She cut her twin off before the ranting started. She was too exhausted to make her voice sound emotional. "I really am. But I couldn't find him."The palomino was furious and scared and sopping wet. She'd spent all night in that tiny clearing, huddling underneath the shelter of the oaks, wet and alone and utterly terrified. She'd shrieked out for help many times thoruhgout the night, but L'Arachel hadn't been back. She hadn't gotten a blink of sleep for worrying about her sister and brother. However, seeing her twin back here looking as normal and unperturbed as ever simply made her angry, although she rarely did get angry.
"I was alone here all night!" she squealed, infuriated. "Terrified! What do you mean you couldn't find him, he's always there and you know that! My goodness! You could've at least come back here if you couldn't find him before night fell too heavily, or..."
"You know perfectly well I couldn't come back here!" Her sister began to flare up at her as well. "It was the blackest part of night when I finally gave up, and the ground was slippery and I tripped and fell! I just managed to get up this morning to come back!"
"But how could you not find Father?" Lute quietly began to cry. Sides heaving with near-silent sobs, she whispered, "He's always there."

A Summer's Storm
Summer Storm
The colt struggled to his feet. He was extremely stiff and allot of effort was needed to stand. He grunted loudly as he placed his feet out in front of him and worked his way up onto his feet. he limped slowly over to the two fillies.
"Whats happened?" he croaked as he weaved his way to wards the fillies and touched his loving muzzle to the pair. He was so stiff he felt as he would collapse.
"Where is father? Or the mares?" he asked looking from one filly to another. He knew not why he was asking these questions, he had heard their conversation and knew the answer already. father and the herd had moved on; or something had taken them. "Do not fret; dear ones" he said softly. "We have two options" he paused before considering how he would put this across to them. "We can either find a new herd; where once i am sure you two will be properly cared for i shall leave or..." he took a deep breath. "we can lay low here till i have regained my strength and aged some and then claim this land as ours" He said finally.
