ooc: Hey, Fly-a-boo! I made a new thread for Tsunami/Lute/L'Arachel RPness, seeing as our previous one was deleted, and they haven't yet succeeded in making her apart of their herd. XD Uh, lessee... they were eating apples, so I'll make it up from there. ^^;
bic: Tsunami closed her eyes and finished the apple, then eyed the tree top for more fruit. None! The other equines in the area must've come and finished them off before winter had arrived. She swung her head around to search for the twin fillies who had come to see her. Depending on their current health, the change in seasons might be dangerous for them. "Lute, L'Arachel?" She nickered. "Are you all right?"
The black-and-white paint shivered to make the flakes of snow that had landed on her slid off. If it melted on her, she'd be awfully cold, and there was no need for that. Winter could be a very dangerous time; especially if you were weak and sick. However, she knew L'Arachel was nothing of the sort, and though timid, Lute showed no signs of unhealthiness. They both appeared to be perfectly healthy, but Tsunami felt she'd better make sure. The guild that would round on her if they caught sickness while out visiting her would be horrible, indeed. ((WB, but meh.))

The palomino filly shivered slightly as it began to snow, glancing around her as the white flakes drifted down in meandering spirals. Snow was still something relatively new to Lute and her twin. They had been born in spring, so this would be their first winter.
"In Passion Forest the canopy is so thick in some places that it doesn't let the snow in, so it's always warm," she said as she sidled up to Tsunami to keep warm. "Don't you get awfully cold out here all alone?"
The sorrel filly set out at a gallop to get away from the shelter of the apple tree, gazing at the flurries around her eagerly.
"Yes, but sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to play outside in the snow, wouldn't it?" she asked brightly, spinning in almost dizzying circles as snow began to coat her sturdy frame. "I'm sure Mother wouldn't mind at all if we left the forest sometimes just to play a little..."
However, her twin shot L'Arachel a patronizing look.
"We should be staying close to Mother," she announced. "Especially during winter. What if you slip on ice while you're playing and Mother is still inside the forest? I don't think we should!"

Tsunami withheld another twitch - what was this, her third? - as once again Lute referred to that stallion's lead mare as "Mother." She really had to stop doing that, else wise they were likely to catch her in the act. "You're both right," She told the twins. "Playing in the snow is a good experience, because it helps to ready you for cold times as an adult. But at the same time, you shouldn't wander off on your own too much in winter, as it's a time when the predators 'round these parts are desperately hungry, and anything weak or injured is prone to be taken." She shook her mane restlessly. "However, I think it's just as well that you head back to Passion Forest. Your, ah, father, may be worrying, what with the snow and all…" She trailed off, rather awkwardly. Curse that stallion and his charm!
The black-and-white Paint mare stamped a hoof, glancing down at the way it made a cloven hoof-print in the snow. Though winter was a tough and hardy season, it was beautiful in its cruelty, and every one in a while she had to stop and admire it. Seeming to forget that she'd suggested they depart to their home, Tsunami asked absently, "This is your first winter here at Sunshine River, isn't it?"

Lute continued to snuggle close to Tsunami, feeling quite safe although she was really out in the open and cold. She sensed something causing the mare discomfort, and, not knowing what it was or how to help, she merely settled for nuzzling the black-and-white paint affectionately. She was afraid that, if she spoke, the snow would get in her mouth and perhaps her insides would become cold as well. She was definitely the more sensible of the two fillies, and yet, they were both still quite young.
It still made the filly feel slightly uncomfortable to call the rather aloof Broken Dreams her mother, and yet, by all rights, she was their mother, as much as Tachyon was their father. And yet, not for the first time that day, the palomino thought that Tsunami was really more of a mother to the twins if they would ever have one. Broken Dreams was more like an aunt, or perhaps just a fond caretaker, a beloved babysitter, to the two of them.
Rambunctious L'Arachel began cantering in circles through the heavily falling snow, the powdery white substance coating her red-gold pelt. With eager, sparkling eyes, she giggled, "Yeah, that's what we could tell Br- I mean, Mother, if she doesn't want us to go out of the Forest to play in the snow!"
Both fillies pointedly ignored Tsunami's suggestion for them to go back, for both of them were enjoying their time with the mare far too much. However, at Tsunami's next question, the sorrel skidded to a stop, flurries flying up on either side of her.
"It's our first winter ever, actually," she corrected the mare briskly. "Lute and I were spring babies!"

Tsunami laughed at L'Arachel's comment about the snow. A small bubble of hope blossomed in her chest as the red-gold filly faltered, and began to call their "Mother" Broken Glass, or whatever her name was. "That's what my friend did. She wasn't a ditsy filly like I was, for a time. She was cunning, and was known to trick others so she could get what she wanted. She was a bit of a genius, though, so it was understandable. I wonder what happened to her?" Lost in her memories, Tsunami spaced out for a moment, but L'Arachel's voice broke into her thoughts. Tsunami blinked. "Your first winter," She repeated. "Well, then I'm glad that you enjoyed the snow! It would've been dreadful for your first winter to be ruined if you had to stay close to... ah, what's his name? Tachyon? I'm not good at names." Tsunami shook her head restlessly. She had begun to feel it as winter drew to a close, and now it was getting stronger. The tingling in her abdomen that meant Spring had come, with heat not far behind it. She loathed that giddy, insisting longing that prodded at her thoughts and made her feel like she was much too happy.
Though Spring had come, and the snow was gone, it was still chilly. Other than the foals, Spring is definitely the worst season, The paint mare thought irritatedly. When someone nuzzled her, she glanced down at Lute, and smiled. "Do you two want to go back to your stallion? Or do you want to stay here a while?" She asked.

Lute pouted slightly. "Winter wouldn't be ruined if we had to stay close to Father," she said softly. "Winter would be just fine. Father usually lets us play..." Her voice trailed off as she studied the black-and-white paint's expression intently. However, the filly knew that Tsunami wasn't like the other mares... she seemed incredibly sensitive to the oddest things... the slightest mention of their parents, or a stallion.
The sorrel chirped, "I think Lute and I would love to stay awhile! But, we can't stay forever, and, erm...." She shot a nervous look at her twin, wondering if they should simply ask the mare if she would come stay with them, for, for once, L'Arachel was trying to be polite, for both she and her twin were absolutely convinced that if they were too rude, Tsunami would refuse.
Finally, the crafty filly blurted out the most persuasive thing she could think of. "S-sometimes being around Tachyon makes us a little uncomfortable, and Broken Dreams isn't really like a mother to us, but you are!" The palomino shot her twin a slightly disapproving look, but the second part was true...
