His hooves had reached the land of his birth and he knew that he needed to get to a place where he could own land in this place. It was a driving need in his brain to give his sister and his lead mare the home that they have always craved. His remaining eye was dark as he surveyed the land under a long black forelock. His dark bay hide was completely absent of any white markings, but was dotted and marked with scars. Royale had returned to the land where he was born. He let out a call, turning over his shoulder to watch as a spotted mare and a bay roan mare stride up behind him. He nodded as the spotted mare pushed the bay roan one forward.
"Starshine, I promised that we would return home and here we are. It isn't the exact place where we had once lived, but it is close. Luna, I sure hope that you will like it here as well." He nuzzled his sister softly before turning towards the appaloosa colored mare.
"Our foals will be raised here and we will live here for generations." She said quietly as she nuzzled his side softly. Yes, Royale had returned and the drama was gone from his life.
Behind the small group, a large stallion stood watch. He was clearly a draft horse, one of a light buckskin color with plenty of white on his legs and a wide white blaze on his face. He stood well behind the group, a protector, it would seem. He quietly grazed as he made sure to listen to their surroundings. Donovan was at home here in Sunshine River, the place of his birth and the eventual place of his death. His tail lashed quietly behind him as he watched the older stallion talking to the two mares, his eyes on Starshine, the sweet bay roan mare that had always caught his eye.
