NIGHTINGALE
Her eyes betrayed how she truly felt, white rimmednthe blue depths as she scanned her surroundings. It had been weeks since she left the corral that she was held captive. Her mother and the stallion had tried to keep the buckskin made from leaving, tried to stop her from joining the her of the ocean. But the dreams. The dreams made her leave, they had to be made known and her mother was not helping. So now she was here. Wherever here was. Her ears swiveled as she waited for her companion to catch up with her.
DOLPHIN
He was a stocky pony like horse, built for short distances and not this long distance that Nightingale had traveled. His steely grey coat was.almost black with sweat as he panted for breath, wisely remaining silent as he came to stand beside the taller mare. His grey tail swung behind him as he turned brown eyes to face her,
"Is this where you will find who you are looking for, Night?" His voice was gravelly as he spoke, his ears splaying to either side.
"I am not sure, Dolphin. I am only following my dream. There will be a black stallion. Death will follow him and he shall rule until he learns what it means to truly love and forgive. There will be no way to end his suffering as he passes from one life to another, his mind seems to slip as he continues through his offspring. He shall be named after the color of his coat and only shall Dust and Ash defeat him. I just wish I knew what all of this means!" Her voice rose into a near shriek, eyes closing and head shaking violently as she tried to clear the mental image of the evil black shadow from her mind. The pony siddled closer to her, his muzzle swinging over to gently touch her shoulder,
"Soon we will find what you seek, I am sure of it." Sighing softly, he lowered his head to the grasses and began to graze quietly. He missed the harsh salt marshes, but his herd had sent him with this mare.
NIGHTINGALE
She looked towards her companion, a near sudden urge to take off and leave him caused her to shudder softly. He was a kindly stallion, respectful and kind, but he was not listening to her. She needed to find someone who would listen! A deep sigh shuddered from her chest as she took his cue and grazed thoughtfully. Who was she even looking for? Who could help her? The dreams racked her mind, tore away reality and she did not know what was real anymore. She just wished for a glimmer of who she was looking for, a glimpse to see who would stop this Cryptic shadow.
