History:

This story begins at a small farm dedicated to breeding purebred Clydesdale horses. The favorite of the farm was a lovely mare named Suko, she was kind and gentle with everyone including the farmers children, during winters they would hook the beautiful bay mare up to a sled and give rides out to the town. When it was time for Suko to bare her first foal the farmer spent many months searching for the right stallion for her, he wanted her bloodlines to carry on and hopped for a few fine colts and fillies.

Finally the farmer found the perfect stallion and purchased him for a large sum of money, he and Suko hit it off well and it was not long before the mare was pregnant. The farmer was filled with excitement and was the happiest man alive when he came out was cool spring morning to find a young strong and very large bay colt rising to his feet for the first time.

The children came up with the name Brute for him, he was a spoilt young colt being the farmers prized mares son, he soon realized it too when he saw how he got extra treats and the children wanted to do more things with him. The farmer was disappointed with how the young colt was turning out he was turning rather aggressive towards the other foals and had to be given a few swift kicks by the other mares.

The time Brute became a yearling he was much larger than the other foals, he became quite unhappy when his mother gave birth to another colt. He however was quickly made happy again when he received his very own stall with a golden plate saying his name in big black letters. The farmer wanted the new colt to turn out better then Brute so he did not let the children spoil him has much.
A year past by very quickly and Brute had become a troublesome two year old other than their looks nobody would know that Brute and Bronze where brothers. Brute was the sweetest colt in the entire world it seemed. Well Brute would nip and kick at the grooms everyone wanted to help Bronze.

Still though even if Brute was a bad influence Bronze looked up to his older brother and would often watch as a trainer would take Brute out each afternoon and try new things with the colt.

A few more years past and Suko had given birth to her last foal she was getting older and the birthing was a struggle for her. She was a happy mother of four fine young males. Brute was four and due to his aggressive nature the farmer had tried to put him out to stud instead of training him to be rode and pull sleds. Bronze was a complete prince the favorite of all the horses other than Suko of course at the age of three he had been broken in without a problem, he never bit or spooked and even the children could right the stallion. He had already been hooked to the sled with his mother and young brother trailing close behind.

Brite the third foal was two years old and had already had a great dislike for Bronze the two of them constantly fought and bickers giving each other quite a few nips and drawing blood and of course being smaller ten his brother, Brite would be the one to retreat.

Suko’s last foal Bane just had a dislike for his brother’s altogether and preferred to keep to himself being the weaker minded one he was easily put at the bottom of the pecking order.

A year later sadness was brought onto the entire farm when Suko past on leaving all her sons devastated and mourning for her lost. When they all were released into a small holding pen because the farmer had also began too old to and had to go to a new home after his children had moved out and wife died.

Brute listened to the humans talking and him being the oldest, he overheard how they were going to have to be split up and sold to different homes, grunting he thought to himself over his dead body would he let these humans take away his brothers and besides he knew how unhappy it would make his mother, the thought of all her sons being split up and to never see each other again.

So at the dead of night he called over Bronze “ We have to get out of here they want split us up and you and I both know Bane would not make it out there without us” The two bay brother turned to look at their youngest brother who stood gazing out at the darkness. “ Brute we don’t have a choice we have to listen to the humans” Brute snarled at disgust with his brother “ well you can be shipped off but I am not going anywhere” looking around he trotted towards the gate and began playing with the lock for hours until the gate finally opened. “ Bane and Brite come on we are getting out of here.” Bane turned and stared at his brother like he had gone completely crazy “now!” Brute hollered “ are you crazy?” Brite asked being dead serious.

The sky was beginning to turn bright has the sun began to sneak up. Somehow Bronze knew Brute was right and he knew that Brite would never go anywhere with Brute unless he beat it into him. “ It’s the only way for us to stay togethier” Bronze said walking past his brothers and out the gate soon followed by the other three.

The four bay brother spent some time traveling and it was not until Bane begam three, Brite Four,Bronze five and Brute six did they come upon sunshine river ready to start their new and exciting adventures, having no idea what is in store for them.
