Name: Citadel
Age: 12 Years
Breed: Percheron
Height: 16.2 hh
Colour: Gray
Eye Colour: Brown
Gender: Mare
Markings:
History:
How Citadel's sire and dam, purebred Percherons, found one another in the wild was never known. As Citadel grew older, she strongly suspected her father had lured her mother away from the comfort of a domesticated life. Neither one ever divulged any details of their meeting, though Citadel only asked once before she separated from them to begin her own life.
A full year passed before Citadel's mate approached the draft mare regarding a foal--a year later, their firstborn foal arrived. Citadel enjoyed rearing the colt, his bulky physique making him a standout amongst the herd's smaller foals. Before a year passed, however, his short life came to an abrupt end. Citadel let the youngster wander from her sight at the wrong time, her first foal dying at the claws of a mountain lion.
Her mate moving on, accustomed to the ways of the wild, Citadel grew distant from him. Her depression grew in magnitude, leaving her a shadow of herself and a practically non-existent member of the herd. And thus it was that she wandered off one day, dividing herself from any and all equines.
Survival eventually becoming habit, Citadel adapted to the life of a lone horse, fending off stallions and predators alike. For years, she watched other horses from a distance, marvelling at their willingness to accept a cookie cutter life.
The motherly inclination born of less than a year as a dam was rekindled when Citadel encountered the miserable, lonely M'a Min. With time, the draft mare turned M'a Min around, teaching her the ways of wild during the day and protecting her as the sun went down.
Following the sun's westward journey has brought Citadel to Sunshine River, M'a Min in tow. What will she find in this strange land?
