Name: M'a Min
Age: 7 Years
Breed: Appaloosa
Height: 15.2 hh
Colour: Chestnut Varnish Roan
Eye Colour: Brown
Gender: Mare
Markings: Varnish Roan
Medical Condition: Congenital Stationary Night Blindness
History:
M'a Min was born on a Nez Perce reservation, bred from Appaloosa lines that had served the tribe for centuries. Her coat was prized by her breeder, but the night blindness the vet diagnosed her with--typical of the leopard complex--was unwelcome.
Once her trainers learned to work around her fear of dark and kept her training to the sunlit outdoors, they shaped M'a Min into a very gentle mount. She even took to liking trail rides so long as they kept out of dim, tree populated areas.
M'a Min served her humans faithfully until her dam and her fellow pasture mates took advantage of a downed fence to explore the grass on the other side, leading her into the unknown. The little band ran into more than their fair share of feral horse herds, each mare eventually becoming the property of various stallions. M'a Min and her dam were all that remained for months on end... until her dam met a tragic end at the teeth of a predator. M'a Min's escape, she knew, was due to her mother's protection.
On her own, the frightened mare survived many a night, blind to all but the brightest light sources. Despite her endurance, however, weeks on her own soon reduced the young mare to a paranoid mess.
Meeting Citadel was the only reason for her continued survival. The older, larger mare took her skittish counterpart under her wing, providing security and guidance day and night. The two wandered far and wide, remaining lone mares wherever they went, for no stallion would challenge the draft mare.
Now they've wandered to Sunshine River, looking for their next round of adventures.
