He screamed a stallion's scream as he entered into the desert. Once he lived here, but now he is not one of this land. He was not afraid of the others that lived in this land, but then again, he was not claiming a land here. Yet. His dark eyes scanned the land as he walked forward, the heat still here even if it was winter. His black ears flicked back and forth, his nostrils scenting the air as he let his white tail lashed behind him. Syn was back in the lands of his father or so he thought. Now, Syn was hunting his father. He was aligned with the stallion known only as The Reaper and was seeking to end the life of the one known as the Iron Tyrant. But that would take time and time was something that he had in his life currently. He let his eyes scan the land once more before setting off towards an oasis that he saw in the distance. Yes, there would be water there, he was sure of it. His own lands would have been taken over by now and he wondered if his sons would still be in these lands or if they had moved on as well. In fact, he started to wonder if the mares that he had serviced were still in this land, one specifically. Cascade. Oh, he remembered her fondly as one that would put up with his coverings and his way of life. He chortled to himself, yes, he would have to find that mare. His left front hoof rose up as he reared into the air, once more letting loose a scream into the lands as he neared the oasis and its water.

Cascade had returned to the sands for the winter, how unnecessary was cold weather? it didn't suit the desert dependent mare. Yet again Cascade had claimed another Oasis, this one wasn't as nice as the last, it was smaller with less shade. Though this one didn't have the hard-stone boulders to climb when she needed a drink. If only she could remember were the last oasis was. But it didn't matter this one was hers now and it was up to her to protect it from the well travelled, the exhausted and dehydrated, that may take her water only after she'd judged them worthy.
A horses scream pricked her ears, she flattened them quickly. Scrambling to her hooves she raced the desert sand to intercept the stranger before they made it to her water. She skidded to a halt a plume of sand blew out ahead of her, before the sand settled she rawred a challenge rearing up as she did. When the dust settled she could see a black horse racing her way. A black horse with a white tail?
Noo...?

Oh Ho! He reared up and screamed a challenge over the water that was there. Wait, he knew that scent. His eyes rolled as he lowered himself and looked right at the mare. A snicker overtook his muzzle as he began to walk a bit more forward. "Is that you, Cascade? It has been ages since I last saw you." His voice floated from his muzzle, eerily smooth and gruff at the same time. A quick glance around made sure that The Reaper was not with him, he was free to do as he wished now. He moved towards her, his white tail flagging behind him as he began to circle her, a nicker forcing its way from his muzzle. "Alone in the desert, my dear mare? No stallion here to protect you? I might have to take you back as my own and make sure that you never leave me again. Yes, I think that I like that idea. Mine forever." His muzzle made to touch her hindquarters as he paused on his trek around her body.

Cascade was stunned to silence, she couldn't believe it. As he circled her his voice echoed in her ears, a voice she'd longed to hear, the voice that comforted her in her dreams. She stared disbelievingly at him, it was his face, his white tail, his gait and proud stance. Oh and that smile, enough to make any filly weak at the knee's. "How could you abandon me!?" She screamed, her voice like nails down a chalk board compared to the silence before. She swished her tail and kicked out her back legs, though never intended to make contact, it was all for show.
"I lost everything when you left" She snapped, ears pinned she shifted to be eye to eye with the black stallion. "I looked everywhere for you, everywhere!"[/I] She continued to hiss angrily, though a crack in her voice was starting to widen. her head lowered, she focused on the sand at her hooves. "I loved you..." she murmured, "You hear me? I loved you!" she said her voice quivering her anger falling into sadness. She looked back up to Syn, she couldn't help but weep in anguish. She felt overwhelmed and tired. The mixed emotions spinning round in her head made her feel physically dizzy. She fell forwards, caught her neck over Syn's, she used him to steady herself, "I love you" she murmured once more.

Love? Now this was new. A mare actually loved him? But he was a rough and tough stallion that was born and bred out of pain and terror. What was wrong with this mare? Or maybe there was something wrong with him. Her sight made him want to wrap his neck around her and just hold her, but he was a tough stallion, one that could not just do that, in case that he was being watched. "Well, I didnt mean to just abandon you. I had to find a certain stallion that I heard was looking for Cryptic. He really needed to know where he could find my father. But I am here now, and maybe we can actually look for a place to settle down now. How would you like that, my angel?" He spoke sweetly to her, craning his neck around and nibbled sweetly on her shoulder that he could reach. "I love you too, my angel mare."

Cascade's coat pricked with pleasure, did he say he loved her too? she played his words back and forth in her head. She smiled, then giggled lightly to herself. She pulled back from Syn's embrace. not because she didn't want it, she loved it. But Syn left to find someone else. "Did you find them?" She asked, her voice stable. "A stallion on the hunt of Cryptic?" she said, Her eyes tightened. She loathed the existence of Cryptic, a name she'd forced herself to forget.
The Red mare looked away from her sweet stallion for the moment and looked out towards the vast desert. Her tail swished as she thought, she wasn't a friendly mare by nature, she was greedy for power, but that's something difficult to obtain as a mare, she needed someone just as greedy, just as mad to he be perfect mate. Syn was just that, they fitted together so perfectly love was inevitable. Without him that love had driven her to madness, she wasn't about to give him up again, not to another mare, or stallion. even if together Syn ad this stallion could end Cryptic.
"Take me to him" Cascade said, her eyes burning as she turned to Syn. She'd not waited for a response, Syn wasn't a stallion to give up a mission, he must have found this stallion before he returned to this land. And she had a few words she wanted to share with such a stallion that took her Syn away for so long.

"Well, sweet mare, he was several days behind me. I am not sure where he is as of this moment, but he will arrive soon and let me know when he does. But I did it, I found a stallion that will take down Cryptic. He is a stallion that has been in training for such a thing all of his life. The others call him The Reaper and he has taken to calling himself that as well. I am not sure what his true name was or even where he stands with the whole Cryptic thing, but he has agreed to kill the evil one." He nipped at her softly, his lips quivering softly. This was a mare that he could truly figure out life with, this was his soul mate. He paused for a moment, then quickly turned to her, his dark eyes flashing for a moment, "Let's start a herd. Let us have a herd and be more powerful than Cryptic ever was. You will be a queen with many mares at your disposal and you will have everything that you need. Say that you will be my lead mare." His eyes burned with intensity as he spoke, his tail flagging with the thought of the power that this would entail.
