History:
Although young, Joy has spent half her lifetime occupying the role of a lead mare. Stolen from her sire's herd at the age of three, the chestnut mare fast fell for her new stallion, Saturn. As her fourth birthday drew near, Joy dropped her first foal--El Conquistador--and soon after fought the herd's lead mare for the honorary position. Upon winning, Joy took up her place by Saturn's side, assisting with the maintenance and care of their herd.
As Joy was weaning her second colt, she was heavy in foal with Harlequin. Shortly after Harlequin's birth, El Conquistador received the treatment of the average colt, being chased off to pursue a herd and life of his own.
Sport was Joy's final foal with Saturn, as the stallion succumbed to a fight for his herd. When both Saturn and his challenger fell over a steep edge, breaking bones and vital organs as they went, Saturn's large herd found themselves without a leader. Soon after, the herd scattered, picked apart by bachelor stallions.
It was as Joy wandered, Harlequin and Sport at her side, that El Conquistador found them. His mother's broken heart had rendered the once proud mare a total disaster, stirring up pity for her and his siblings and rekindling the love of a son.
For the time being, the small family wanders the world, seeking a home. El Conquistador fully intends to seek out mares of his own, but first desires to find a spot for his dam and sisters. Someplace they can call home and a stallion to keep the safe from the dangers of the world.
