Born the daughter of a mare who had never been touched by humans and a domesticated father who had longed endlessly for the world outside the fences of men. Mar'li was born into a crowded herd but proved to be nothing more than a weakling in their eyes, meager and fragile and sired by a stranger. Her mother, on the other hand, was kind and would never let her daughter listen to the others' cruel words. Even for the weak filly she was, she had great curiosity for the wisdom her mother had to offer. The mare had taught her much, and always reminded Mar'li that even if other foals her age might have an advantage when it came to raw strength, she would always have her wits to rely on. Unfortunately, her mother's great knowledge had all come at a high price - she was very old. When only three seasons had passed since Mar'li's birth, her mother passed away, and without protection the filly was an easy target for the stronger yearlings.
Trying to remain among the only ones she had left to call family for as long as she could, it was clear that weaklings had no place in this herd and one day the colts' harassment went too far.
Bleeding and frightened she left her homeland behind, wandering aimlessly for longer than her mind could care to remember.
Now grown out of the little filly she was when she was chased out of her first home, walking away from a past she prefers to leave untouched. Mar'li is stepping into these new lands, uncertain of what might lie ahead but eager to start anew. [/size][/center][/color]
