History:
Fear. It was all the trembling young stallion could feel at this moment. Ropes bound him to a point where he could not move. They tied his anckles a short disance apart so he could not walk and one was tied tightly around hin head and the extra bit was tied to the rope between his front legs so he could not jerk or rear or buck. His nostrils flared and his chest heaved as sweat poured from his exhausted body. He could not move, but he listened, ears flicking back and forth rapidly, as the group of men spoke. Their gruff voices rose and fell as they argued over prices for his fancy hide. Finally one man walked over to him and he felt a sharp sting on his neck followed by a course burning in his veins. Almost instantly he felt himself become very lethargic and dizzy. His body seemed to sway as he felt the ropes being pulled and loosened, but he hadn't the engery nor the will to fight the poison and he was loaded onto a shipping trailer.
Later he would find himself dazed and standing in a round pen packed full of horses so there was barely any room to move about and they were being herded one by one into a tight metal contraption. One by one the door would slide up and another horse would be pushed in just before the heavy door fell again. When it was his turn initially he refused, but when he felt something poke his rum it sent a shock down his leg and up his spine. He lost his footing momentarily but immediately lunged into the gates. Again paintful stings in his neck and cold and burning sensations through his veins. Men came and trimmed his hooves and looked him over and he was released into the other side. Another large, crowded round pen and shoots to be filtered into. As the evening passed they were not bothered anymore by the two legged nuscances and Kthulhu found himself resting uneasily. Come morning the men were back and the horses were offered water and hay those who dared go near the colt steel fencing were offered nibbles of grain, but Kthulu only eyed the passing beasts.
By evening crowds of humans gathered round and chatted loudly. They were everywhere, their beady eyes gazed on the cream colored paint and the other flashy horses. One by one they began to filtered through the gates. Two ropes were placed around his mid region and he snapped and pawed as the ropes were jerked tight. Then through another gate and he stood in waiting. Wondering what would come next. What was to happen to him now. The loud chattering of the humans and the clanking of metal and moos from cows were raping his eardrums and driving him mad when suddenly a two leg climbed upon his back. He reared and whinnied and called out to his bretherin but no voices called back to him. The ropes were again tightened down harder and another man stabed him in the neck with a prod. When he jerked away he slammed his head againt the unforgiving metal gate just as it swung open. Furiously he jumped out of the gate pawing the air with a fervid rage. Yet the man on his back clung on and kicked hard into his ribs. Again he flung himself into the air and belly rolled before jerking himelf to one side and kicking out. This sent the creature flying through the air and landing with a hard thud upon the dry ground. Kthulu turned and snaked the man barring and snapping his teeth until the human jumped onto the side of a fence and Kthulhu was forced out of the pen by two other horses with men on their backs. For three days this went on before the stallion was loaded onto another shipping trailer to do it again at another destination at another time. This would become his life. The unridable. The vicious. No one could go eight seconds upon the Call of Kthulhu.
One night after a long, hot day of rodeo Kthulhu pricked his ears as the sound of thunder rolled across the sky. -Oh good- he though. -some rain would be a nice end to a hard day- But with the rain came howling winds, booming lightning, and that sound.. it sounded like a freight train roaring across the desert. The clanging of gates and metal like symbols crashing into one another. The humans ran around screaming and all the animals were in an uproar of terror and confusion. Tarps were sent flying, a tree was uprooted and fell across the pen injuring several horses. Those who could, jumped the tree and fence and fled in horror as the tornado neared and demolished the rodeo grounds.
Againt the wind he ran with a small band of other horses. This was it. This was his ticket back to freedom.
