Name: Patriot
Age: 17 Years
Breed: Quarter Horse
Height: 15 hh
Color: Black
Eye color: Brown
Gender: Stallion
Markings: White Snip and Various Scars from Past Battles
History:
The dun mustang stallion had rescued Patriot from the mundane life of a cowhorse. Why he'd left Patriot, a foal not of his own blood, alive to roam the desert at his dam's side could not be said.
Losing his first herd had lead Patriot to Sunshine River. Both a blessing and a curse that occurrence proved to be. Losing his first family, all of those foals and mares, to another stud was nothing short of heart breaking. But what he gained due to the aforementioned tragedy showed him love in its purest form.
Though apple orchards were completely new and unfamiliar to the desert-born stud, Patriot took an instant liking to Apple Alley. The black stallion claimed it as his own and set out to populate it with mares of his claiming and foals of his breeding.
Patriot's success in growing his herd proved to be far less in the strange, beautiful land than he experienced in the desert. Sunshine River provided them a sense of... importance. No longer were the females just breeding stock—here they chose to demand love and caring. At least, thus seemed to be the case with most.
Being a quick study, it didn't take long for Patriot to adapt to the new mindset. Though his herd was fewer in numbers, the love shown from one horse to another was great.
Mystical Illusion came first; the black stallion weathered his first snowy winter with naught but the one mare at his side. Oceana had been the third member in his tiny herd. Then came the real prize: Firedancer. The fiery chestnut had rejected him the first time around, but come round two, Patriot had won out. Night Star and Dream had followed, and with the latter came her steady, loyal sire, Parlos.
Patriot had his doubts during his time at Sunshine River, no doubt, but his mares and foals helped with that. They provided a sense of comfort he'd not known before Apple Alley.
But he'd abandoned those he loved shortly after the coming of his new little ones. What had come of his herd members, the black stallion knew not.
Now, after years away, Patriot has once again found himself a loan bachelor. Some terrible curiosity has led him down a path he's traveled before. Back into Sunshine River he's wandered, not knowing what kind of reception he'll get or if any of his loved ones even survived his abandonment.
