He had to watch as a stallion took his family, but what shocked him was no one else left but him and his mother.
(More about Darkness, Light and Dreamer)
When Darkness was old enough he left his mother and father’s herd in search of his own. There were few mares who followed the now gorgeous colt, but Darkness was not happy with how any of the mares looked or acted when it came to picking one for a lead mare. One day he had come across a paddock that held the most beautiful mare he had seen in his life and he knew he had to have her.
When darkness fell the stallion soon moved toward the paddock that held the pretty paint. He used his charms and his heart to convince the mare to leave with him and she did. Light was all but happy to leave with the stallion and she didn’t hesitate to jump the paddock fence to roam free with the pretty stud colt. It had to be better than staying there to be a brood mare and have no one love her but the humans.
As time went on, it had been two years and Light was due to have a foal. Darkness was worried for his mare, but when he caught sight of the brown and white colt, he had to let out a cry of happiness. The now 4 year old stallion had stood proudly on a hill that over looked his herd.
Four months later, things were not as happy as they had been. Darkness could hear the helicopter overhead and ushered his mare to lead the herd to safety and he soon took off the opposite way from his herd. Darkness had been caught by the BML. For 2 months Darkness tried to figure out how to get free to his herd once more, but what he did not know was that the herd was no longer his but his lead mare and son were loyal to him and had left after it was taken.
One night, Dreaming had come into the area that his father was in and did his best to undo the latch of the pen that held his father and as soon as the gate was open; both he and Darkness were gone.
Now the three look for a new home, even if Darkness is not the lead stallion, he just wants a safe place for his family.
