History: Buck pulled, straining against his harness. The whip fell on his back, the sound reaching his ears a second later. Sweat dripped into his eyes, blinding him. But Buck kept pulling, knowing that the beatings would be worse if he stopped. It would have helped if his partner had been here with him, but he had caught some unknown illness that made had damaged his lungs, making him unable to work for long periods of time. So Buck was alone now, pulling all the heavy loads of wood and getting the brunt of the whip. The lashing came, the whip wistling through the air. He couldnt stand it anymore. Buck got a crazed look in his eyes. He reared, lashing out at the whip-wierlder with his hooves that were the size of dinner plates. The cheap leather harness snapped, freeing Buck once and for all from his cruel master. He ran, his hooves pounding against the ground. Buck ran until he collapsed. Then he began wandering, looking for a paradise to live out the rest of his days in. He has come to Susnhine River, his paradise.
