Starling's muzzle fades into a darker shade of grey. But for this, she would be classed as a pure white horse.

History:
Starling has travelled a long way - about a month's journey from her old home in the north. She was born to an escaped ex-racer and a wild mare he encountered weeks after his escape from the clutches of man. He was later re-captured in a large hunt which threw all the herds in the area into panic. Starling was at this time 5 months old, but she's never forgotten the terror. She and her mother managed to escape with the majority of the herd, lead stallion included, while the sub-stallion (Starling's father) and a few of the mares and foals were captured. It was after this incident that the herd left the area, heading north to what they thought was a safer territory. When they got there, there was indeed no men to fear - only the local wolves, though with plenty of prey around, it was only in the harsh winters that the wolves bothered the horses.

Gradually as the foals became yearlings, and then became older, they grew more independent and eventually left the herd. Starling herself left with a group of other young horses, included in their group were two colts and five other fillies. They travelled for a while as young horses often do, living life and tempting danger. Later, the group became smaller as one by one, each young horse left to find their own herd. Starling herself was the third to strike out on her own, and she came to the area of Sunlight River to discover adventure.
