History:
A strange thing was starting to happen in Mishano's herd. Horses had been disappearing for days now, leaving mothers anguished and sad. Mishano stood at the edge of the terra, where her young son had been grazing heartily before going missing the next day, along with his playmate, Shishona. Mishano couldn't find him; he was just gone.
Their herd was peaceful. No worry, no fright or frantic running when food was gone. They simply moved to a new area, where the grass was plentiful. Mishano had been born during one of these moves. She had been curious at the time as to why this was; why everything was so easy, but the the elders told her not to question, but to accept it.
Still, as the years passed by, Mishano couldn't help but fear what was going on with these placid horses. She became encumbered with child and bore a foal, one she lovingly called Philip. She was fiercely protective of him, while most moms where rather inattentive and lazy. Then the day came. Her son had only been lost for a moment, just a moment, but then he was gone. So where 5 other babies tat made up their herd of a rather large size. For days, Mishano worried and called, and still no answer. The others had simply forgotten after a day or two, already lining up to bear the next generation, but Mishano refused.
Mishano revisited the place of her suffering a year later, when she noticed a small, silvery line. Upon closer examination, all the things she had worried about finally made sense from this one discovery.
She had found a fence.
All her worries suddenly attacked her. They where not a free herd! They where some horses, made to believe they had been free. The elders knew, she was sure of it. Then a new thought came to hr; they had Philip! With rage, the mare screamed before charging the fence, clearing it with ease. It had been a year since she had seem her son, and she would find him! Even if she had to kill, maim and torture, she would find him!
With a beating heart and powerful hooves, the mare galloped her way to sunshine during a moons full course.
