Thermometer was born to a older mustang mare. She didn't know her father, but her mother always treated her with contempt. Her mother told her horrid stories about her father, Celsius. About how he had been a very evil stallion, killing their lead stallion. Her mother herself had been the lead mare of the herd, and had always hated the adopted horse. She told of the horrors of him forcing many of the mares in the herd to carry his spawn until the lead stallion ordered him out.
When Thermometer had turned 2, her mother had chased her out of their little makeshift herd. Her mother had told her that her father would find a use for her someday. Thermometer confidently traveled for a year, until stumbling upon Sunshine River. Cold, and in search of a father she didn't even want to know.
