Where does the story of Dagaz really begin? He was born before the illness devastated Raidho's herd. His mother was a lovely claybank dun and his father was a typical Kiger mustang. But he was a crazy chestnut color, rather plain actually. When the illness swept through the land and his mother died, he was assumed dead. His father had given up looking for him and took in King, the draft stallion. That left Dagaz in the dust.
But the humans caught and kept Dagaz for their own. He was a strong stallion, but he had a problem. He could not or would not breed the mares. Every mare that he covered did not conceive a foal. He would not pass on his genes, perhaps the illnes caught up with him.
He had helped his father for years, in secret, once he was released into a feral herd as a gelding. He had never actually been gelded though and he certainly still acted like a stallion. So now, he was back and ready to try and accept the stallion that had been his father's adopted son.
