Devotion. Praise. Glory. I was the blessing of the God himself. After I was weaned from my mother, I was given to the Pharoah of the land. Forever was I to walk in the blessed sands and be at the God's command. My mouth never touched feed and water that was not blessed and my hooves never went without touching the blessed sands of Allah. I am perfection in a race of perfect things. My body was to be worshiped, jewels were placed in the Thumbprint of Allah on my neck.
When I came of age, I was taught to pull the Pharoah's chariot. The harness was of gold overlay and jewels bedecked my body. I was a grand sight to see. But the blessing of Allah was to be taken away. The Pharoah started worshipping Ra, the sun god. A lesser god. Allah promised to destroy Egypt. As the sands rose to devour the land, I ran. Taking with me my favorite groom, I ran. Towards the Nile with him on my back. Upon the ship, I thought us safe. But the waters rose behind us.
Where am I? My groom is gone and I am wet. This place is not the blessed sands, there is too much green here.
