Dune never met her sire. Phoenix had been claimed by Cobra while pregnant, since Legend wasn't one to stick around for long; thus it was in Cobra's territory that Dune was born, and he treated her like one of his own. She was a bright young filly from the start, and would have grown to be a lovely young mare, but she never left the island on which she was born. As a two year old, she contracted the mysterious plague that had infected some horses across the lands. Legend arrived with the intention of slaying the daughter he had created, but instead allowed the disease to do his work for him. There was nothing to be done; Dune died, and Phoenix lost yet another of her offspring.
