Their History>>
Kitco was what you could say a perfect mare. She was the top of the herd back at her stables were she was called 'Everybody Has A Kitco', and was adored by her owners. She was also the top of the ropes at the show ring, and could even put the nastiest mares in their place. She was a horse who expected and demanded obedience, and respect. She was the top-dog, and loved it.
But that was all shattered when a gang of stallions rolled into her peaceful farm. Of course, she had gotten away, but then she had been roughly covered by a mutt! It wasn't the fact that her home was destroyed or that she was covered, it was that a mutt horse had done it. That drove her mad. She, of course was a sensible horse, and soon she found herself lazily dreaming about her foal. She was miles away from her sweet home were she was at the top in every way. She had been taken by the mutt and they had traveled together. He always spoke of a grand herd, but they only had a few followers. Finally, Kitco grew tired of him and one night stole away. By then she was 3 months along.
Then she met Rashindi. She was in a similar situation, except for the fact that the foal was a pure-blood while hers was a mutt. That made Kitco slightly resent Rashindi, other then the fact that Rashindi was a Lusitano and Kitco held a prejudice towards other breeds. Before long they were separated in a winter storm. Kitco, being the high-strung mare that she was, kept herself and her growing foal alive well through the winter.

Their History>>
Rashindi wasn't always Rashindi, she had been Caroline and was a dressage horse. She grew up on a modest estate were they bred her breed. She was well-taken care of and loved by all her stable hands, and was a favorite of the owner. She had a very gentle attitude, and rarely argued with the other horses on the estate. Her invasion started a few weeks after Kitco's, a couple days after she had been covered by one of the stallions that had been ordered in.
The raid was quick and fast. The same group of stallions, minus the stallion that covered Kitco ran through. Horses were freed and some were killed, and soon Rashindi found herself being taken up with the wild group. Since she had already been covered, she wasn't of much use and was soon chased away. Confused and alone, she met Kitco on her way to the mountains. She felt a sudden dislike for the prejudice the mare had, but had traveled with her anyway. She knew the smartest thing to do would be to band with her, but that was short lived as a sudden winter storm came upon them and separated them. The winter had been harsh, but she pulled through, and her foal had survived in her womb.
Joint History:
Both mares had met once before. One was about to give birth and the other close to her own due date. Though both didn't see eye-to-eye, as Kitco had a slight prejudice against other breeds, they banded together after being separated during winter. Kitco soon gave birth to Quin, and a few days later Rashindi had her own foal, a filly she called Maline after her mother. Both mares had traveled together since that fateful day, after they being separated during the winter. A few months after the foals were born, the mares and foals entered Sunshine River.
