Adopting a Character
-Do not change character stats; if you are not satisfied with the character's stats, then make your own new one instead of editing the adopted horse. You may only change it to add minor details and edit spelling/grammar, but do not change the main idea.
-From now on, adoptions must be approved. If you want a character, post in that character's thread. When admin gives you the OK, you may copy-paste the character's profile into a new thread in Character Joining. The adoption thread will then be locked. You will have five days to post the character in an IC thread, if you do not get it activated after you adopt it the character will be put up for adoption again. Most adoptions will be approved; denial will be given if your current characters are considered inactive, and also possibly for reasons not yet foreseen.
-Please do not adopt a character if your only reason for doing so is to kill it off. If you want temporary characters to kill off in plots, just create a new character of your own, it doesn't have to be complicated.
-If a character is put up for adoption, it is completely reset. Only the things written in the history have happened to it. Even if it has been at Sunshine River for years, with a herd and foals, if it is put up for adoption all that is gone, and the horse loses all memory of anything that happened at Sunshine River. Keep this in mind when adopting. The only exception is if the original creator of the character agrees to let you keep the character's past history and relationships.
Putting Characters Up For Adoption
-If you want to put a character up for adoption, PM admin and they will move the character's profile to the adoption board. You may continue to play the character until it has been adopted, if you want.
-If you get a foal you don't want to RP, it can be adopted out. Same as above applies, you can continue to play it until it's adopted.
-If you put up a character for adoption, and then later change your mind *before* it's adopted, let admin know and it will be removed from the board. If it has been adopted, ask the adopter first if you may have it back. If a conflict arises, admin will judge who gets to keep the character, depending on the individual situation.
-If your horse is put up for adoption, you may ask to have it back; however, if you are a repeat offender and do not keep it active even after adopting it back, it will be put up for adoption again and you won't necessarily be allowed to have it back. You may request for it to be deleted instead.
