Name: Mercury's Messenger.
Age: 3 years old (she's only a baby, this one)
Breed: A bit of a mixture, no one is totally sure of what she is, much less herself. Her parents were both domestic horses dumped in the wild, so obviously not of great breeding or value.
Height: 15 hands, but by the age she is 4, she should make 15.1 (just)
Colour: Shimmering Steel Grey
Eye Colour: deep blue, the colour of sapphires
Gender: female
Markings: four white stockings, all of even length and a little snip on her nose.
celestial element: planet Mercury
terrestrial element: earth (soil, dirt, rocks etc..)
History: Mercury's Messenger was born to two horses released into the wild. They met each other not long after their release and soon became close friends, as neither had much in common with the wild herds. Much time was spent with each other, forming their own "herd", of sorts (if two in a herd can count), constantly reminiscing about being with the people that they loved. Both dearly wished to be back in civilization, the wild was too uncivilized for them.
Two springs after they met, a foal was born. It was instantly obvious that this foal was nothing like the parents. She was born such a strange Grey, a shining silver like mercury, with delicate, balanced white markings. It soon also became obvious that she was extremely fleet of foot, for at merely a week old, she could outrun both her parents. On this basis she was named after the roman god of communication, for he was also fast, and his planet shared the same strange Grey colouration.
Over time Mercury's Messenger became more and more unlike her parents. She loved the wild, a daughter of the wild itself, they once said with slight disgust. As she grew she spent more time with the wildlife, and less time with her parents. The animals loved her presence for she was kind and gentle, and would often follow her for many hours on end. She loved the company, and made many great friends with the animals, mostly animals of the Australian wild. Her parents had forbidden her to talk to other horses, and did not even know of her animal friends.
One day, in her third spring, Mercury's Messenger's parents decided that they were sick of the wild, and were going to find life back in civilization. They told their daughter to come with them, for, despite her "flaws" they still loved her. But Mercury's Messenger refused to go, and made her parents know that. She left them in the silence of the night, along with many of her animal friends, whom directed her to sunshine river.
Now here she is in Sunshine river, a mere filly that has never known horses other than her parents, parents who disliked the wild intensely, unlike their daughter. She has no idea how to react around other horses, having never seen them, although she does recognize her own species. So how will she cope, the young filly of the wild, who has only ever had friends of other species, now that she has suddenly bee thrown into the world of horses?
Fortunately for her, her best friend Komo has agreed to help her on her venture. Komo may not always be easily seen, but he has promised to stay with Mercury's Messenger, even if it is only in the shadows. Rock wallabies keep their promises, and this one will always be loyal to his best friend. Komo is about 6 years old, and has spent some time around. Most don't know it, but he spent much time in Sunshine river before he met Mercury in her land, of course he kept to himself. Many of the horses he saw here were not of his type, but he watched and learnt much, which has proven to be useful now that Mercury is out on her own.
Komo is generally a shy creature, and would rather flee before he fights, negotiate before an arguement, and use brain over brawn (he is rather intelligent, too), but if need be he will do whatever is needed to protect Mercury. She is lucky to have such a loyal friend as this.
