Name: Mesteno (Meaning Mustang)
Nickname: Tengo
Age: 9
Breed: Kiger Mustang
Height: 16 hh
Colour: Chestnut
Eye Colour: Brown
Gender: Stallion
Markings: White at the top of tail
History: Tengo always was a romantic, and in the end it would be his downfall. Born in the mid-west, to a herd of wild mustangs suffering persecution from the humans, he had a rough upbringing. Shortly after his birth, his mother was stolen by a raiding bachelor, and of course, being her baby, he had to go as well. They passed through the clutches of several different stallions during the next few years, and along the way, the tough little colt grew up the hard way. It was only through the suffering he saw in his mother's eyes every time another stallion snatched her away that he didn't turn out like the other bachelors - rough, wild, and heartless. He learned to love, and care for those around him. Once he was old enough to pose a threat to the other stallions, he was separated from his mother, being to young to fight for her back and too mature to stay with her. He always stayed close by, though, and once he found himself ready to face another stallion, he stole his mother away, and they lived happily ever after.
Yeah right.
He took her away, and traveled around, and like all hopeless romantics, fell in love. Now, don't for a second think he was some sort of player, because he wasn't. He found his one and only, hus "forever girl" and now, this was where he had planned to stick his "happily ever after." Unfortunately, tragedy is life's favorite affliction. Disaster struck, and hit home, right on Tengo's true love. That's right, his pretty mare got zapped with a lightning bolt. I know it sounds silly, but its true, so just keep listening.
Anyway, like any true lover, he was heartbroken. He fell into depression and to make matters worse, his mother soon died at the claws of a mountain lion. Lucky guy, wasn't he? He began to be a loner, seeing as he was the only one left of his small family. For a time, he amused himself in a bachelor herd, but they were too rough and crude for him. He joined a few herds as a loner as well, but it just didn't work out for him. Eventually, he just set off, not knowing where he was going or where he was going to end up, but can you guess where he did? A river they called sunshine, and here, he said, he would stay.
