Name: Brazen
Age: 9 years old
Breed: Chincoteague Pony
Height: 13.0 hh
Color: Bay Pinto
Eye Color: deep brown
Gender: Mare
Markings: bay patches over a white body
Family Line: Unknown
History: Tiny little Brazen was born on the isle of Assateague off the coast of Virginia to a wild stallion and mare. Her original herd as well as her sire and dam were lost to history thanks to an overbearing storm and flooding of the tiny isle. How Brazen survived is still a mystery today. When the water receded and the survivors of the other herds were sorting their losses, a lone stallion happened upon a tiny filly carefully tucked into the bow of an old ship. He gently nickered to the filly, who slowly uncurled her neck and bravely nipped at the stallion. The stallion nickered deeply and gently tugged the little one out, placing her in the care of his lead mare. Once Pony Penning Day rolled around, the tiny filly was caught and taken into a pen with several other foals. She pushed her way to the front and reared and played to get attention. If she was going to live here, she would rather be with one of those two legged creatures. She was eventually bought by a breeding farm who was looking for a purebred mare to add to their broodmares. This farm was located somewhere in another state far inland. Brazen traveled many miles to get to her new home and upon arriving, she promptly decided that she did not like it.
The next few weeks were a blur of being shod, meeting the pompous stallion and other mares, and being taught to accept a halter. All of this was not agreeing with Brazen, who would watch the wild herds roam free. One curiously bright day, the owners had decided to pair Brazen with their pompous stud. The courtship was non existent, the covering quick and painless but Brazen would have nothing to do with him. She reared and fought as the stallion was led away, finally gaining a tiny purchase that she was looking for. The rope snapped. A gate lay open at the end of the gravel that she was running on. She slipped out of it almost too easily. She hightailed it into the wilds only to be hunted for daily. After wondering for days, she rested where she thought that she could not be found. The two legs found her and she ran, her right leg becoming injured on a log that she jumped over. She ran for all she was worth, never knowing of the tiny foal she carried.
The foal was born, a wild Rogue. The adoptive father, Alaskan Star was excited. Would he be now that they had returned?
