History: Dulcimer was born two years before Faust on a breeding farm in Middle America to the mare of Karatuch. Her sire is unknown at this point, lost in the sands of Turkmenistan during an endurance race. Karatuch and Dulcimer were set free on the night after Dulcie's birth by a rival show stable who thought the mare and filly were too risky to have in the show arena. Dulcie herself was of pure lines dating back to the founding of the Akhal- Teke breed and was destined to be a champion until she and her mother were released. While her coat color is not rare among her breed, it is certainly rare on the plains and in the wild. Enough that many cowboys and ranchers had to have that mare. If the humans were not enough, then the stallions drove poor Dulcie crazy. After her dam met up with Faust's sire, Cryptic, she left the herd. She did not want to become Cryptic's little pet since she was such an odd color. She has been a lone mare ever since.
