Alright. You may or may not have read pony's idea in the idea box. Doesn't matter. (Since when do I give her credit for anything?) Anyway...

So. We already do a member of the month sort of thing, although that will be overhauled a wee bit I think. So that we actually have criteria for it. We'll see. We only have a few active people anyway, so that is not very interesting.

But. Here is where pony's brain comes in.

1. Character of the month. Pretty self-explanatory. This would be a character who has an interesting history, personality, or is being RPed in an interesting way. Obviously, it would have to be an active character.

2. Post of the month. Also self-explanatory. Take the best post made that month, and give it a round of applause.

3. Showcase archives. A subboard of the regular IC archives. People can pick some of their best threads and place them here, so that they can display and remember stuff they're proud of.

#3 will be enacted as soon as I get around to it. I'll make a subboard, and each member can start a thread there, "Swede's Favorite Posts" "Mouse's Crowning Achievements" whatever you want to call it, and then post links with a short blurb to the archived thread (this is so that two different people can add the same thread to their favorites).

#1 and #2 I like, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be added. But this will take more work, and more time, which I don't have a lot of. So what do you guys think? It would be great if we could get some volunteers to read threads and characters and put together a list of nominations. We could either vote, or a specific person gets the job of choosing from the nominations, or you just make Swede do the final pick. Does anyone feel like being in charge of either Post of the month or Character of the month? Then we could send nominations in to that person, who could judge the winner for each month, and let me know so that I can put up the honors.

Opinions? Thoughts? Ideas? Questions? Anything? I want to get some feedback from you guys. This is a chance for you to have an active choice in where the site goes. Bring down the Swedish dictatorship! Democracy for Sunshine River!

I think these are great ideas! There are some well developed characters here, so it will make nominating a little more challenging and make winning the character of the month more rewarding.

I know I haven't been around long, but if you need help with anything I'm around a good bit of the time.

Alright, folks, special subboard has been created in the Archives for you to place your favorite threads. Just create a new thread, and add links to your best threads in the archives.

Friesian Lover will be in charge of the Character of the month awards. If you think a character deserves to be given this honor, PM your nomination to her. First Character of the Month will be presented at the end of February.

Alright. Dusty, your job is to find posts worthy of being Post of the Month, and judge the winner, and then let me know which one is chosen at the end of the month, along with a short explanation why it was chosen.
