I think that all of the herds really need to be updated, especially since we are loosing and gaining so many characters.
People that are not rping should loose their herds as well, since it makes stories and posts become suspended and not able to continue and you can't just pull those characters out of a post because what if that person comes back. At least there should be a way to put those posts on hiatus until the person comes back or says that they cannot rp anymore.
Im sorry if I sound kinda mean, but I am in a clean up mode and do have some characters that I cannot really do anything with because they are in posts, even though I want to kill at least one of them off to lower my cast of characters.

ooh! Pony finally has a half decent idea!
It seems that we have been posting a lot more lately. Can we please increase the "see last ten posts" in the infobox to fifteen or something? I like to use the search in the infobox to let me know what has happened equine wise on the site over the past day, but when a few posts are missing I can get a bit confused.

Hi! Me again!
Sorry for sounding more than a little bit anal, but could there be something regarding the updating of histories or something. You know, every couple of "years" or so, when the age is updated, just a few short points on what has happened in the past two years, so that members that are browsing the history get the full picture, not just pre-sunshine river. It wouldn't have to be every little detail, just big ones like herd ownership, fights, relationships and deaths.

I've left it pretty optional. I update all of my histories every now and then, and I strongly encourage others to do the same, but its not necessary. And if a person did update it, and then their character was put up for adoption, the bit of history that occurred here on SR would probably be deleted, to keep it fairer for folks who would get confused. Offsite history is open for interpretation, onsite is more difficult as other members would know the character better than the adopter does, which is just stupid.
I might make it a requirement one day, but for now it will just be an option that i highly recommend. (Plus it keeps you busy while waiting for posts, people!)

I think that the site would prosper with a few codes and a new skin to make it look better, it would attract many new members. If you need someone to do codes ect. I would be willing to do it, as well as a new banner and some advertising.  I think that those changes would help the site to become extra active! |

Well um I don't know if this could ever happen but I just thought I would bring it up I think it would be awesome if some more lands were added like maybe a snow covered terra would be cool for like snow typed horses or maybe a field that close to humans and the stallion has to always be on the look out for his mare. I don't know but I would really like some choice of land or more with more then one herd can live in... just an idea though |

I second minerva's idea and maybe we could make it into a contest to give us something new. We could try to make up the best land and whoever wins gets the herd one spot in it. And I think it would help if we had some more pictures. The terras would looke better with some and so would the site. I would be happy to help out with that if needed.

As for coding and such, we will be getting some new stuff eventually. Most of you know that I am on an extremely limited computer schedule this summer, which means not much overhauling for a while, just bare minimum in maintenance-- when I get back to school, I will hopefully have more time, because I don't live with computer Nazis during that time of year. Kittycat has provided some stuff, which I am very happy for and hope she will continue to do, and pony has agreed to do some skins once her computer isn't being argumentative.
As for new terras... I'm really skeptical towards this. We added half the terras a long time ago, and they are still rather unoccupied. If lands are full of horses and new terras can be justified, then sure. But right now, the only purpose it would really serve is to expand the home page more.

I have an idea. I think that there should be a herd for just bachelor stallions. Make it somewhere rather inhospitable and that they have continual competitions for top rank and have to leave the herd by the age of at least 8 if they have the intentions of ever ruling a herd. If not, they are forced lower and lower down the ranks unless they are able to prove themselves worthy of living in this place of stallions.

I already asked for a herd for just bachelor, I like you idea though Dusty except the age thing. so if there over 8 and if they do not leave the bacherlor herd then there is no chance of a herd? has I understand I think  but maybe like 15 years or something since the horse can live to be around 30 or at least that what I have herd and seen and they still have15 years to own a herd or is that to old? |

A bachelor is really just a blanket term for a stallion without mares, which includes not only young colts kicked out of their herds but also older studs who've lost their herds due to other stallions, age, etc. So age restrictions will only make things more complicated than necessary on here, I think. A captive horse can easily live to 30 years, but in the wild they're lucky if they hit 20, and they're usually never strong enough to protect a herd at that age. It's a fictional RP though, and we don't have any ancient charries on here, so I'm not going to worry about that right now, cross that bridge when we come to it. If people band their bachelors together, they can make up little rules among themselves if they want to, but I'm not going to set sitewide requirements on anything. In any case... I believe I mentioned on the cbox, don't remember if I was talking to mouse or pony though, but anyway I had this crazy dream on Christmas Eve which gave me a barrelful of ideas, one or two of which touch on this bachelor herd thing. Stay tuned....

Ohh! New surprises! pony ish excited. I would beg you to tell me, but I get the feeling that that wouldn't work. Somehow, I think you were talking to mouse though, since pony has been very inactive since christmas.
This suggestion is probably a weird one, but, eh, you should all know by now that pony and normal are mutually exclusive terms.
Whyen I get bored, I like to scroll through the old threads sometimes, but, well, you know, some threads are standard stuff and some threads are really delightful to read. Is there any way we could, you know, pick out some of the cream of each roleplayer's roleplaying and stick it in a sub board in the archives. Get each member to select their top threads or something. Pony knows which one she would pick of hers (Here's a hint: It contains an army. XD XD)
And if we ever get enough members, could we like have a character of the month or something, too? Maybe just a simple recognition to go with the member of the month. Pony's pick for this month is pretty simple; It's the same nutcase that got the pick of the month on LOTH: Solbrinn.
