Iliana had been wandering the wilderness since she was around the age of 2, remaining nomadic most of her life. Nothing really exciting happened to the mare, aside from a few narrow escapes from the clutches of wild cats and wolves, until she ran across a stallion that she thought would give her life again.
The stallion wound up force breeding her, resulting in a pregnancy that almost cost her her life. The foal was stillborn, birthed too early and no one around to save it. She knew it was to happen, for this had occurred several times before. The humans knew it to be a rare disease that prevented the mare from ever birthing live foals, but to Iliana all she knew was that a foal was way beyond her reach, and it took until losing her most recent foal to realize it. With a sad and broken heart, Iliana spends most of her days near the Foal Fields, watching mothers give birth to lives that she herself could never give.
