[OOC: Mandy come here! xD]
The trees surrounding the gurgling river were ablaze with the beautiful colors of autumn. A brisk wind blew along the many leaves that had already left their branches, and blew many more leaves away from their trees. The weather was certainly becoming colder and colder, and no doubt winter would be about before anyone knew it.
A pitch black stallion with no markings stood next to the river, gazing thoughtfully at his reflection, distorted as the wind rippled the surface of the water. His dark, silky mane floated away from his neck on the chilly gales that ravaged the place. The sky was cloudless, but the morning air was a bitter cold.

Naz walked into Sunshine River with her head held slightly higher than where she used to hold it. Naz had more confidence thanks to Swede. She knew that she could find a herd here. She would find a herd and then she would go back andfind Swede. She looked around at the leaves in the trees. They were different colors than usual. She made sure that the humans were not around, you never know where they will find you. After she was sure there were no humans around whe walked over to the river. She lowered her head to take a drink of the cool water. Naz spotted a black stallion and walked over to him. "Hello sir. May I ask your name? I am Naz."

The jet black stallion's body jerked with surprise as he was yanked out of his reverie. Turning, he saw a quite curious-looking little pony. He noted to himself that the blue roan really was quite pretty, and wondered if she had a herd.
Smiling, he swept a graceful leg. "My name is Black Magic, milady, but let us not dwell on my heathen title," he said, his warm, pleasant voice filling the air. "I shall hope that Milady Naz is having a fine morning?" Charming, dark eyes swept over the little stout mare.

Naz smiled warmly at Black Magic. "I am having a fine morning. How has your morning been?" Naz flipped her head to get her forelock out of her eyes. She wondered if this stallion would take her into his herd, that is if he had one. He looked like he would protect a herd well. She wondered if he did take her into his herd would he accept that she did not want a foal? She would not go with any stallion that would not respect that about her. She was simply not ready to take care of a foal nor did she want a foal.

The streak of midnight bowed his head respectfully to the pony, bowing elegantly. "My own day has been fairly pleasant," he replied cheerfully. "I wonder, however, what such a beautiful maid such as yourself is doing all alone in such a place as this?" He tilted his head charmingly to the side, smiling handsomely at the blue roan.
Black Magic studied the strange little pony curiously as he waited for her reply. She was, indeed, unlike any other mare he had ever seen.

Naz smiled warmly at Black Magic. She held her head gracefully and her blue roan coat was shimmering in the light. "I am here because a friend of mine told me to come here and find a herd to join. What brings you here?" Naz tilted her head gracefully to the side at a slight angle. Her forelock fell away from the scar and she quickly put un-tilted her head to cover the scar up. She knew that Black Magic had seen it and that he would probably ask her a question about it.

Dark eyes sharpened quickly as they caught on a scar on the side of the mare's small head. He raised his eyebrows but did not inquire... mares were entitled to their secrets, he had learned.
Instead, he merely bowed his head again, to take his mind away from it, so he could focus. "I search for a lead," he sighed after a short silence, turning his head to look out over the terra. He noted, a bit absently, that there were not many other mares and stallions here courting today. "I have recently claimed terra in Apple Alley, but alas, I am alone, one stallion meandering about in a terra large enough to be the home for a herd... I thought I might, perhaps, come and search for a beautiful mare to call my own." He watched the small blue roan intently out of the corner of his eye.

Naz smiled at Black Magic. She was partially glad he didn't ask her, but she felt like she would have to tell him sometime in the near future. Naz flippedd her head and didn't care that her scar was revealed because he had already seen it. "Have you met any mares that you think would make a good lead yet?" Naz heard him say Apple Alley. She remembered something about it being filled with wonderfully delicious apples. She loved apples and if she did not join Black Magic's herd she would surely have to visit him sometime like she has to visit Swede.

The black stallion smiled charmingly at her. "None so stunning as you, Milady Naz," he said graciously, sweeping a fluid bow. "Indeed, I have not met such a beautiful mare yet in this land, as I arrived here not too long ago." BLack Magic wasn't afraid to flatter the pony shamelessly... he had been roughly brought up to be as polite and pleasant as possible to mares by his controlling and no-leeway mother.

Naz smiled at Black Magic's flattery. She wasn't used to flattery, and she kinda, well, she kinda liked it. Naz flipped her head so her forelock was out of her eyes. "Is that supposed to be a compliment? You are the most handsome stallion that I have met here." Naz smirked a kinda flirty smirk. She cocked her head in a flirty way. She wouldn't mind coing with Black Magic as he seemed to be a pretty nice stallion and he certainly has the looks. She took a step towards him and smiled again.

The stallion chuckled and stretched his nose out to the mare playfully. With her every movement, he saw grace and beauty. Undoubtedly she was a very pretty mare. "A compliment? Milady, I speak naught but the truth! Have I ever seen a blue roan whose pelt shines like the midnight moon? Never, shall I say!" he announced grandly. "And as to my own begotten looks... never shall they be worthy of yours, Milady Naz." he swept yet another elegant bow to the pony mare, his dark eyes dancing.

Naz smiled at Black Magic. "I have never heard that from anyone. I have been shunned by most. And you are most worthy of anyone." Naz flipped her head to get her forelock out of her eyes. She looked at her pelt, it really did shine like the midnight moon. She looked back at Black Magic. His coat was black like the mignight sky. "Black Magic, your coat is like the midnight sky." Perhaps they were meant to accompany each other, does the moon not always accompany the midnight sky?

The stallion's warm, regal faced creased in a frown. "Never!" he cried. "Milady, must I say say that you are, without a doubt, the most beautiful mare I have ever laid eyes upon?" Most would've thought him lying, or exaggerating, to merely con her into coming into his herd... and although he had to admit he was being more poetic than he usually would have been, it was true. She was beautiful.

Naz smiled at Black Magic. "Would a mare as beautiful as you say wander without a herd? I think not. If I was as beautiful as you say I would have been claimed by a stallion long ago, would I not have?" Naz looked at Black Magic. She hoped that her tone had not been offensive, so as to make him thinki that she thought him to be lying. She sighed almost silently. She hoped that she could have a herd with Black Magic, she truely was starting to care for him.

The black stallion hesitated a moment, then stepped forward and touched his nose gently to her side. "Then I must be the first stallion to see you," he murmured, "Or the other stallions you have met were extremely foolish, or blind. For there is no other explanation... Milady, may I say that everything from your eyes to your very name simply emanates beauty?"
The young stallion tilted her his to the side slightly, smiling teasingly at her. "The question is, m'dear, would you so grace my lands as to come and live with me? As my lead?"

Naz smiled at Black Magic. Shethought over what he said and then she opened her maw to speak. "You have been so nice to me and the least I can do is come with you, so yes I will accept the position of lead in your lands." Naz walked over to Black Magic's side and nuzzled him gently and lovingly. She nipped at his mane gently. She wondered if he would accept that she would not and could not bear his foal. She would not be able to give her genes to a foal that would be theirs, but they could adopt a foal at least. She sighed as she thought of not having a foal.

Black Magic smiled charmingly at her, nuzzling his new lead affectionately. He could not have wished for a more beautiful and gentle mare, and yet... there was something strange about her. Shy, and tentative... this was a mare with a secret, certainly. However, although he remembered little of his father who had left the herd when he was so young, he did remember one lesson that the stallion had taught him... that mares would have their secrets, and that a lady's past was her own.
Contented and cheerful, he said softly, "Let us, then, go back to Apple Alley."
