He moved swiftly into the large canyon. Spicy aroma's encircled his muzzle, but only once caught his attention. Briony. A mare he had found in need of love, respect and compassion. The whole caboodle. The bay arab paced, wondering is the sweet arab mare would arrive safely. A smile crept up his maw. The fond memories of her, everything about the sweet mare, made him smile. Like he never wanted to stop. In the following summer, two foals sired by him would be born. Two perfect foals. Artax sighed. Life was good. He began to rest, eyelids drooping, when Briony's scent became stronger. Wow. She was here!

Briony trotted quickly into the canyon, searching for Artax's scent. She lifted her head, and caught his scent on the breeze. Her pace quickened, while she thought of who she had come here to meet. Artax was a stallion who had listened to her, who had helped her come to terms with her past, and offered her a home. She trooted off in search of him, following the scent. She thought of him as she trotted; the kind, forgiving stallion with the glossy bay coat who had put her at ease and welcomed her to this beautiful place. There! She saw him, not too far away. She trotted towards him, eyes only for the stallion she saw before her.

A wide smile crept to the fringes of his maw. She was here. Great. The beautiful mare who had stolen his heart had arrived. Soon, they would breed. Allot was to happen. Hopefully, Kalari and Briony would get along. He was pretty sure that Kalari would accept the other arab mare. He raised his head high, banner flowing thile the sparkling oceans. Their eyes met for the millionth time that fine day, but this time would be more special. Artax moved towards his new mare, inhaling her sweet scant. She was stunning in every way possible. "Are you ready, my dear?"

She looked at him, and ran her muzzle along his neck. 'I'm ready when you are.' she told him softly. She nuzzled up to him and breathed in his unique scent. She couldn't wait; this was why she had come here. To join a herd, and start a family. She was content with that; she had a handsome, strong stallion to protect her and her future young, and another soon-to-be friend. Once again, she wondered what Kalari was like. Briony knew instinctively that she would like Kalari, it was just in her nature. She turned her attention back to Artax, and waited patiently.

He could barely contain his exctiement, his glee. The stallion took a deep breath, enough to swallow the entire seven seas, before moving to his Briony's rump. He rose, daggers landing gently upon her back, sweet words flowing musicaly through the crisp autum air. A small draft caught his threads, sweeping them into the blue sky. They danced elagantly like his heart at the moment. Orbs turned to his new mare, studing her features, never wanting to forget them. Artax dismounded, rubing his maw up her spine, before coming to rest at her head. "Ready to return home, Briony"

Briony stood still while Artax quickly did his business. She was elated that she would finally be having a foal, and with Artax! Afterwards she turned to face him and rubbed her nose against his. 'I'm ready to go home.' She stood with him a moment more, then turned to exit the valley. Suddenly she remembered that she didn't know the way! She turned back to Artax, just a bit embarressed. She walked up to him and nuzzled him. 'Whoops!' she said softly. 'I don't know the way!'

Their business here, at the canyon of breeding, was finished. He laughed whole-heartedly at his new mare, Briony, eager to return to the homeland. Soft melodic words chimed through the cold winter's air, snow decorating his bay pelt with white patches. "Come, and we shall return home." With one more loving touch to her muzzle, Artax began to move into a steady canter. Hooves carried the Arabian though the snow elegantly, the rise and fall of his chest becoming rhythmic. Strong stilts carried him out of the territory an into the future, the horizon.
