Name: Black Magic
Age: 2 years
Breed: Appaloosa x Thoroughbred
Height: 15.3hh
Colour: Pitch black
Eye Colour: Dark Brown, almost black
Gender: Stallion
Markings: None
History: Black Magic was born to a lead stallion and mare. His father was an Appaloosa, a pitch black Appaloosa with a blanket of white flecks over his body. Black Magic remembers his father as clear as anything, although his father left the herd when Magic was only a colt.
His mother, Modron, was a pure black thoroughbred with no markings. Everyone remarked of how Magic looked like her, although he had always secretly wished he looked more like his father. But, he did have an amount of gratitude towards her. She raised him and his only brother. He had many sisters... in fact, he had a total of 4... and all of them, all 6 of them, had come from the exact same parents. His father had always been loyal to Modron. And yet, after a particularly stressful summer and an autumn that was turning out to look no better, along with the threats of a new pack of wolves that had decided to move into their territory, his father upped and left. He left his herd, t their greatest time of need. And it was something that the feisty, spirited Magic would never forgive his father for.
Magic was a boisterous and energetic young thing. He grew up to be taller than both his brother and all his sisters and most of the herd, which was almost completely made up of purebred Appaloosas. Modron was considered a bit of an outsider, and had never been particularly liked, but every one of them had practically idolized his father, and thus accepted her.
But, by amazing fate, the herd survived throughout the winter and faced spring with a fresh face. Another stallion took over, and although he was not as good a leader, they soon took to him well enough. Eventually, scars healed and grudges fell away. A whole year passed, and soon Magic's father had faded from memory. Modron was now looked down upon more than ever, but they let her stay, and it was enough for the mare. But Magic promised himself to never, ever forgive his father for what he had done.
And yet, bad luck struck the herd again. Modron fell ill one winter, and died within the season. The herd moved on without a second thought. However, as young as he was, Black Magic was urged to become lead stallion. The lead that had been serving them ever since his father had left was growing old and forgetful, and had gotten them all into a number of situations.
Magic knew that his brother would be a better leader, although he was the elder one. In one breathtaking moment, he did what his father had done a little more than a year before. He left silently and quickly in the middle of the night, waking no one. He was now determined to find his father, and find out why he and his herd had been left all alone, without a proper leader to guide them.
The one thing he never found out was his father's name. Modron refused to speak of him, and the herd refused to remember him. Black Magic is now on a wild goose chase, on a seemingly impossible mission. Will he ever meet his father again?
