Hey there guys,
I'm not going to go into details in this thread because I'm quite tired of bawling my eyes out, however, I want all of you to know that my youngest sister's eight month old puppy is going to have to be put down due to bone cancer. We're taking him in tomorrow to be euthanized. Sooo, I may not be on much over the next couple of weeks. Probably because my muse will be demolished. I may drop by on occasion just to relax, but I don't know. Sorry, all!

Oh BE, that is horrible!!! Was it a genetic link or something? Wow, only 8 months old. I lost a 9 year old RottweilerX Gernam Shepard to bone cancer some time ago and just lost a 7 year old boxer mutt to lukemia as well. I feel for you and if you need to talk, you know that I am here for you at all times!!!

We actually think it was because he had a weak immune system. The poor boy has been riddled with all sorts of crap since he was born, really. It got really bad after he was neutered. He ended up with a nasty case of the Strangles (which cleared up yesterday, BTW) and my mom and I had noticed that his gums had turned incredibly purple and that there were lumps... He's always been sensitive to everyday things that the girls have never had problems with, but we just thought he was a wuss, you know? Anyway, he couldn't get comfortable last night and his mouth started dripping blood... My mom wasn't even sure if he would make it to see today and the euthanasia. Don't know whether a natural death would have been worse or better. He was in a lot of pain and was not the same dog that he used to be (hasn't been for a couple months). *nods* We did the right thing, but it's tough.

Then you went with the best route and I know that he is much happier now. I believe that dogs do go to heaven..but then again I am an animal lover. But I had a dog once, a golden retriever that had a cancerous tumor on her spinal cord. It happens so rarely that they did not know what she had at first and did like thousands of tests. She started retching up blood on Christmas Eve and the smell was like death and we knew that she would not make it to even see Christmas. So that night, my mom and dad took her to an ER place down the street and they had to have her put down. But I know that she is in a better place now. Although the dog never did like me that much.

*sigh* I know it's pathetic, but I'm having a tough time sleeping tonight because I'm thinking of all the awful things that could happen to my Wisdom that would make her have to be put down. We went to a Red Cross CPR class for dogs tonight and I guess the mention of all the emergency situations has left my nerves all frazzled. I know that the Lord will never give me anything I can't handle and I know I should have peace in knowing that He is in control, but I'm having a rough time right now.
Sorry, I just needed to get it out. It's bothering me is all. I probably need to go to bed. Some sleep will surely help....

Thats okay BE. :] I hope your puppy gets better. And yes, sleep would most likely help some.
