Our New Home

Zuriel trotted into the territory, wind in his fur, water splashing on his coat from the waterfall. He galloped to the top of the cliff from which the mighty waterfall poured. He reared high and screamed a stallion scream, claiming this land for himself and his small herd.

He let out a call to his herd members and soon saw them coming from the distance. He smiled a horsie smile and tossed his forelock out of his face. When his herd got here he would ask his lead mare to come to the breeding canyon with him. If Lea wanted a foal also he would gladly give her one out of love.

He watched as the two beautiful mares walked into the territory with their brother. He called to them gently. "This is our new home. There is plenty of room for our herd to grow now." He waited for his herd to join him up on the cliff so he could ask his mares to come with him to the breeding canyon.

The two sisters chattered, walked along the edge of the waterfall, watching as Zuriel claimed the land as theirs. Vanker walked slightly behind the two females, watching for any signs of danger. He doubted there was any, but he couldn't be sure.

Lea and Kilii climbed to the cliff next to where the waterfall fell. Kilii stood next to Zuriel, rearing up and neighing happily. The three of them had a home once again, and she was lead mare of a herd. She had her family, and now Zuriel. Yes, she was very happy. She landed back on the ground with a light thud, nickering happily to Zuriel. "This place is beautiful, Zuriel." She nuzzled him lovingly.

Lea watched as Kilii reared up, her white forelegs pawing at the air for a few minutes before going back down to hit the ground with a light thud. Lea whinnied to her sister. She was happy that Kilii was happy. She had always been afraid her twin would never find a place to live if Lea ever left her. Lea looked back to Vanker.

Vanker was looking out at their new land. He had just ascended to the cliff, and the wind was whipping his mane and tail back. He stood alert for danger. He would do whatever it took to defend his sisters and his new friend, Zuriel.

Zuriel smiled as he watched Kilii rear up happily. "Almost as beautiful as you and your sister." He nuzzled them both lovingly and then looked at Vankee before looking back at the mares. He looked to each of them. "Would you two lovely ladies like to take a trip with me?" He was sure that they would know what he meant by that.

He would love them both very much and he would cherish a foal more than anything. He always had a soft spot for foals and these would be his first wild ones. He would raise them to be great horses and rule great herds. He nipped the mares gently and lovingly. He waited for their answers, if they were not ready to breed he would be okay with that, although that would mean they would have to wait for another year. He stood and watched over the land as he awaited the answers.

Kilii nickered to Zuriel. She looked at him, ears alert, as he asked if they would like to take a trip with him. Kilii was sure she knew what that meant. He would like to know if they wanted to breed. She gave a horsey smile, replying, "Yes, I would Zuriel." She started down the waterfall, looking back to see if Lea would accept or not.

Lea was semi-surprised that Zuriel had asked both of them to the breeding grounds at once. She had always wondered what it would be like to have a foal. She was sure that it would be interesting, if both her sister and she had foals. There'd be more additions to the herd, and it'd be fun to have a son or duaghter of her own. She turned to Zuriel. "I too shall go with you." She started down after her twin.

Vanker smiled at Zuriel. "You're a quick one. Be careful with them. They're my sisters. I'll stay here, naturally."
