How about rigging the archival system so that it doesn't work on the Advertising and Adoption boards? I see that the Advertising board is almost empty because all the threads are old, but I think that the adverts have the right to stay there even though no one has posted in them, don't they? But, maybe it might be a good idea for old Adoptees to go to the Archival... since no one wants them anyways, I suppose. If newbies come along and don't see any horse in the Adoption that they might like, then we could suggest they dig around in the Archival, and only then if they don't see any charries they like that they create an OC? Because we -do- need to get rid of all the Adoptees we have up, unfortunately -.- Also, I do believe a rewording of the Rules is in order, because I believe it might be a tad hard to understand in some cases O.o No offense meant, obviously. If you want, I'll reword it for you and just post it here so that you can just copy & paste it as long as you take the stars out (Like [b*][/b*]) That's just me, though, since I'm all picky abotu that stuff xD <3Flyffers

And, and about the Archive rigging thing, while you're at it, you should probably rig it not to send old threads from the Going Away & Quitting sub-board to the Archives as well, so that before you delete someone's account and you go back to check whether or not they posted an excuse, you won't delete their account because their thread when to the Archives.
Also, you should add the thing about the bright colors, and about aging and etc. etc. into either the FaQ or Rules xD

Thanks for the idea flyff! I will post up the rules in ooc: and all members can put in their thoughts and if anyone would like to they can re-write it. The rules are getting abit old and could do with a re-vamp. I know the archives are a new thing and still working a few things out with them - but your ideas have been taken aboard and they will be put to good use.

Great xD Also, I think there should be just a "member spotlight" instead of a "member of the week" because I don't think you really have time to update it every week, do you? xDDDD And because I'm nitpicky and precise like that.
And also, I also think that those mini-banners (y'know, underneath "staff members") should be linked the staff member's page. And also, Manda should get a mini-banner since she's a Mod now, too, shouldn't she?

Maybe a catastrophic weather event? Spring thunderstorms are common in the land of auz. Or a flood? Or a mega heatwave? Or, or, or...

That was suggested last time, but we wondered how we were going to make it work? I don't think everyone would cooperate IC. Like, BM tried just some simple flooding, saying that Mare Lake and Gathering Fountain were completely flooded and off limits and etc. etc... but people still posted there because not everyone reads that header thing/checks for new announcements and stuff xD
For example, say we got a major heatwave. But if a few people decided that they didn't want to RP a heatwave, they could pretend that it was an unusually cool summer, or something. So, ummmm... >.>;
Also, how about the threads in the Archives are unlocked so that we can reply in them if we want and bring them back -out- of the archives (or, if that's too complicated, just continue the unfinished RP in the Archives)? That means more tampering around with the Archival system, I know, but alot of unfinished threads I was in before went to the Archives and it's really rather annoying >.>;

How about having people update the histories of their charries every time they age them? And having the herd histories updated once in awhile as well?

How about we have some sort of reward for new members. You know, just some sort of reward to say 'Thank you for joining! Hope you enjoy our site'.

Hmm...hey BM, how about having a few mods? Not to really moderate, as everyone on here knows the rules mainly and everything, but to help you out when you're not here -- like for deleting old threads, helping put up the herds and whatnot. Most of us know how to do it, as most of us have worked with proboards before in some way or another. Just an idea for threads that could be moved into the archives or deleted.

That would be a great idea, BM. I know that I at least I have 2 sites on proboards. Most of us do and know how to delete stuff and do all those those wonderful things that you might need help with at times!

well, there are moderators actually -- swede and spirit and whatnot....but, can they delete threads? I know that you can bar the mods from parts of the admin control panel so they cant delete, move/remove threads.

Thats a good idea. i will put up a poll and everyone can vote on who they think would be best. 2 mod spaces open.

My suggestion is that characters shouldn't be placed under adoption unless the creator specifically says they can. To me, each individual character is 'copyrighted' to their creator. If that creator went inactive, and their characters were placed up for adoption without permission, it's sort of like plagiarism. ^^; At least, that's how I feel about it. I'm incredibly upset when my characters are placed UFA without my permission. Even just a simple addition to the creation form would be useful (ex: "Can this character be adopted if you go inactive?" And then yes, no, or "I'll edit later and decide" could be your answer. ^^)

I second the motion. Swede is extremely protective of self's characters. then again, there is the problem of what if you are forced to go for a while, charries can not be adopted out and are thus deleted, and you come back, and don't have the stats written down and thought they would be in the adoption board (I mean, seriously, how often do charries get adopted?) or someone else had them but would let you take them back, and then you're stuck there wondering what to do because all records have been erased.
If I make myself clear.

That's true. Maybe make something like an "inactive characters" subthread? That way, their stats are saved, but they're not in the roleplay and they're not adopted/deleted.
Oh- and another suggestion. >>; Get rid of the posting order thing? I think this forum could be so much more active without it. If 2/3 people on a thread were on, those two people could roleplay a lot - not so much as so they'd drown the other person, but enough so it could be a more active thread overall. Maybe change the rule to not posting more than 10 times with another person, if there's someone else participating in that thread? ^^; The wording could be fixed.
