His large hooves were never misplaced as Guilo laid them down on the rocky ground, though they certainly weren't quiet. How could one silence such large feet, though? At least they no longer held over-sized shoes as they once had. His black coat was ragged and dirty, which was nothing like it had once been when he had lived in captivity. He did not mind, though. He was not looking to impress. Well, not fully. His size would hopefully "impress" the other stallions of the land and convince them to leave him and his love alone. Of course, loneliness was not something he desired at this particular moment. He needed some direction. Were there any decent territories in this land? Would he have to challenge or were there free pieces of land for weary wanderers? He would gladly challenge another stud to a fight for territory, but he wasn't going to do it until he had an idea of the prime locations.
The Shire's kindly eyes licked across the territory. He could only scent studs here, so he assumed this place was off limits to mares. That wasn't a problem - the studs were the ones he was looking for. Raising his large head into the air, the draft let loose a call, hoping to attract others to him.

His ears heard the call of a stallion that he had not herd before. Perhaps he wished to know something and perhaps he could find a friend lurking where so much blood had been spilled. His hooves led him to the place of stallions, where his King had once fought to claim a mare and land. But now, the King was in a place where he was happy and protected and it was high time for the Knight to get out for a bit on his own.
The dun stallion strode into view at a slow walk. Age had not stopped him nor had his white line disease from making the strenous climb of the rocks. His black mane and tail waved behind him as a banner would as he sent a friendly call in the direction of the taller and larger black stallion. His wild head raised in greeting as he made himself a friendly target. "Greetings, stallion. I come not to fight as I do not own my own terra. I was merely passing through when I heard your calling. If you consider yourself as a friend, please take my name. I am Raidho." He dipped his head in greeting as he neared the larger stallion. His dun coat was shiny and full of life as he stood before him.

The dun stallion hadn't approached in any form of stealth. That, among other things, was a good indication of his good intentions. As the other had started approaching, Guilo had taken a couple steps forward and taken in the details of the other. This one was nothing extraodinary - just a typical, wild stallion. Of course, what else had the Shire expected? He mentally chuckled at the thought of winged steeds and other creatures of stories.
"That call was meant to be heard, Raidho. I'm glad it was so," Guilo started. "I admit that the geography of this land is quite confusing. I've passed everything from deserts to mountains in the past few days as I've wandered. It seems ideal for horses of different backgrounds."
"I am Guilo," the giant stud said with a bob of his head. "If you don't have a terra to call your own, do you know where I might find one? I'll admit that I would prefer something easy access because one of my size does not easily navigate rocky land, but my mate and I won't be picky."
What use was small talk when you could just get to the point?
(OOC: Blah. Sorry.)

Raidho nickered softly, nodding his head. Yes, this terrain on the lands would be quite hard to navigate for something as this Shire. In fact it was hard to navigate for his King. His long mane swept through the air as he raised his head slowly, his mind whirring. Of course there was enough room in their terra and another herd there would be welcome during the winter months. And Orchid was looking for another herd to go into as well since she could not quite live with her sire all of her life.
"There is land over in Rainbow Ridge and I am sure that my King would love to have another large herd in the land there. It is plentiful with grazing and water and the company is well as well." He nodded his head slightly in the direction of the Ridge. Yes, it had been the sight of the bloodiest battle since, but no longer did the past bear relevance in the place there. The herd that revolved around the battle no longer resided there and it was now a quiet and serene place to call home.
He let his right front hoof move gently as his eyes traveled over the larger stallion and sized him up for knowledge of the stallion. Yes and seemingly kind hearted. Of course looks could always be deceiving. And King's own self was tough yet gentle natured.

"Another large herd, you say? I wonder, does that mean your King is classified as a draft as well?" That would be a truly interesting circumstance - two draft kings reigning in the same territory. "If another draft is capable of navigating this Rainbow Ridge, then I trust I can manage it myself. Would I be allowed to come visit? Check the place out?" For traps and the like. One could never be too careful. "My mate, I think, is off nourishing herself, but I think I shall leave her be for now. The dear thing hasn't had nearly the energy she used to since she became pregnant. " Here and there, the Shire was dropping keys to his identity. Hopefully they were also warnings. This dun seemed trustworthy enough, but another draft could pose a challenge if they wanted - Guilo wasn't going to lead Zora into potential danger if he could help it.

"My King is that of a Gypsy Vanner, if you have heard of the likes. They are large enough and he has been in training for years as a champion before earning his so called retirement. King is settled in nicely with his herd, a lead mare and another as well as his daughter and son and myself. There is few others that reside there and we would be welcome to have the company of yourself and your life giving mate as well. As long as you are quiet and do not interceed with the King's rule, I am sure that he would house no qualms as to let you be able to investigate the lands under his reign. Another large breed herd there would be welcome if any intruders were to enter the lands." A bow follwed the words as the dun Knight made his posistion known. He was truly a Knight to the King and he would do anything to fight off the would be attackers of the King's peaceful reign.
A swish of the tail and an implication of the head towards the home herd allowed the larger stallion to see where he was headed as he turned towards the home land. His hooves moved over the ground with short and careful strides, a mustang instinct towards surefootedness. He made his going slow so that the large shire could easily follow him and speak if he had any questions.

"Ah yes, I have met a few Gypsy Vanners in my career, though they do not often show at the same events that those of my breed do. I am interested in meeting your King. My Zora is the only other draft I have met here in the wild. I imagine it is not that common. We are more domesticated animals, for a good reason too. I can't run nearly as fast as horses of your stature. It's not easy to run your typical herd that way, though I am less likely to be attacked by cougars and such."
"Lead on, Sir Raidho." The Shire had to admit, he wasn't looking forward to travelling the rocky land again, but he would do it. Maybe he'd have a bit of a break at this Rainbow Ridge.

Raidho nodded to the stallion and turned, letting his hooves guide the way for the larger stallion. Indeed it was true that Raidho was much small and could run much faster than his draft friends, he took his time indeed to make sure that Guilo followed him at the speed that was natural for the draft as they headed towards Rainbow Ridge.
His tail swung in a perfect rhythym of his walk as he made his way towards the Ridge, his mane bouncing along his neck. He seemed the perfect gentleman though, and he was, just like his King.
