Whisper smiled upon Strega's answer upon her few words. "Might I help you in search, for a new territory...I swiftly find them, its a talent of mine as well as healing others. My breeding is use to such long distance travels, and my breed also comes with emense swiftness. Emensly useful asset to find you a new territory you would suit perfectly." she said sweetly toward the two. She was and always will be such a helpful yet not such a submisive soul, hey that was Madame Whisper Promises for you !!
As Whisper looked over to small sweaty black Aska she gave a smile over to her. She knelt her head down to her and whispered, "Do you like the way in which I speak ? ¿Te gusta mi acento?" then raised her head over Aska's, the odd water droplets dripping down from her whiskers. "Strega, Elding...Might I take Aska to help me with the search, she afterall is a better aset and she looks like she would enjoy the journey away from Rainbow Ridge." she asked sweetly.
"Yrsa can accompany us if you like, it will give you more time to spend together, time you have not had since birthing both them I am sure." she winked at the both of them, whipping her body in a slight skip around to Yrsa and Aska, "I bet the two of you would enjoy that, to get away from here, travel over the lands and see more sights than Rainbow Ridge. Sí, le gustaría mucho que." she smiled at them, their eyes glowing, Yrsa's more so than Aska's.

Elding shrugged. "I don't see why not," he said. Then his dark head turned to Strega, and he added, "But it is your choice, my love. Whatever you think is best." A chill wind blew up, swirling dust around them. Yes, the first snow was approaching. Hopefully, they would find a nice, quiet wood somewhere. But for now, they could take winter here if necessary. When it cooled down, they would have the upper hand, for they had been bred for centuries to withstand the cold and snow on very little food. No doubt they would end up the healthiest in all the land come spring.
Yrsa's eyes sparkled. She was almost four, getting old to still be with her parents. But, she loved them desperately and could not take off with the first best stallion that came along. She turned her dark muzzle towards her parents. The North Swedish mare said, "Oh, could we please go? And I can take care of Aska, no worries!" Her black tail swished against her brown side eagerly. She would love to go exploring, maybe make some new friends, see the sights. It would be fun. She felt the icy gust as well, and smiled. Winter was one of her favorite seasons, she loved snow.

Strega wasn't sure what to say. She wanted Yrsa to go and have fun with Aska and these Spanish mares, her voice had sounded so eager. But she wasn't sure she wanted Aska to go. She was so young. But Yrsa was almost four now, so Strega had no choice but to let her go. She needed to start a new life on her own aventually, and soon. She needed to find a nice stallion who was or would become a great leader. Strega wasn't going to give up her oldest daughter to just any old nag who happened to walk by their territory. Oh no, she was going to get the best stinking stallion around for Yrsa, Strega always wanted the best for her daughters. But then again, there was Aska. So young, but Strega couldn't' bear to leave her with out any fun either. Yrsa would take care of her, Strega trusted Yrsa. Reluctantly, Strega said one word. " Yes"

Aska gave a leap of joy when she heard her mother's answer. She was going on an adventure! The first on in her life, too! She galloped up to her now standing mother and cuddled right up to her and whispered a "thank you" in swedish. Aska gave a curious look at the beautiful Spanish mare when she whispered the odd language into her fuzzy, black ear. She didn't understand a word of it but somehow, it made her feel happy and relaxed, like a sudden spell had made her feel very woozy and calm. It was a nice feeling though, the smooth, velvety voice of Whispered Promises, almost sounding like a soothing sort of music. But, Aska didn't understand English nor this language that Whisper was saying, so she just smiled.

[] You Shone ^BRIGHTER^ Than Anyone !
Whispered simply smiled and nodded gracefully at Strega. "Come along then girls, time for adventure !or dónde empezar primero !" she spoke sweetly looking down at Aska. "On my travels I spotted a fountain, lets start there then. Espero su vacío." As she began to head off slightly she just galloped back to Strega and like a songbird said, "They will be safe with me I promise, no harm may come to them on my guard." she followed in a protective tone. Aska was such a sweet madame and Yrsa was just fun to be with !
As she nudged the little black filly and young mare along she smiled. Wondering where her sister was she wanted to check the gathering fountain first, plus it was a nice place to take Yrsa and Aska out to. If shes in trouble then I will slaughter her with my own hooves, I still cant believe what she said to me ... I know it was hard losing our parents but we have eachother and they wouldn't want us fighting right now !! I just have to find her... estúpido yegua. she couldnt help but worry though. [/color]

Yrsa smiled delightedly, and bucked for joy. And then, to her great wonder, a single snowflake fell from the sky, followed by another. Winter was here. She galloped in circles, unable to contain the elation spreading through her. Winter was a wonderful time of year. She stopped suddenly beside Aska, and whinnied with pleasure. Then, she said, breath fogging in the cold, "Let's go!" Elding smiled indulgently, just as happy at teh sight of snow but letting out his joy with a nuzzle to Strega rather than wild loops and bucks.

Strega nuzzled Elding back. Oh, how happy she was but oh, how worried she was! She wanted her daughters to have as much fun as possible in their young lives, unlike her last foal, before Aska. The foal, very unfortunately, had been taken by a cougar. She had only lived for a few months poor thing. Since that foal had gotten so little out of life, Strega wanted Aska to have some fun in case she got taken too. Strega shuddered thinking about it. No, she told herself, think positive. Strega wasn't to worried about Yrsa, she was much older than Aska and could take care of herself for the most part. Strega felt a cold little drip on her muzzle and looked down to see a perfectly formed snowflake. Yes, at last winter was coming! Winter was Strega's favorite season. The dun mare looked down at the spot where the snowflake had been. Now it was just a puddle. But it was more than a puddle. When Strega looked close she saw a few words: It will come. Strega shook her head. What? A message on a snowflake? Strega looked back down, but the snowflake, puddle, and message were gone.

Elding felt his love's shiver, and looked sideways at her with concern. "Are you alright?" he asked. He doubted that she was cold; her coat was thick and fluffy, just like his. But the black stallion hated to see her worrying, and gave her a fond nuzzle. His long, thick mane swept around his neck in the frosty gusts of winter, and snowflakes were filling the air more thickly. But he could still see the brightness of the sun reflected off of them. Rather than being a frightening sort of storm, it was quite enjoyable. Well, to him, anyways. Someone who hated winter might not like it, but sucha someone did not seem to be around at the moment.

Strega shook her head. Was she alright? She didn't know, but didn't want to worry Elding."Yes, Elding, I am fine, just a little drowzy." Truth was, she did feel fine, but was worried about Aska. So young, so young.... Strega shook her head again. No, she trusted Whispered Promises that she wouldn't lose Aska. Strega pawed at the frost covered, revealing a little tuft of frozen grass. She bent down her long, graceful, neck and warmed the grass with her breath before eating it. She started walking a little bit in a circle and then quickened her pace. Now she was feeling happpier, and winter was here. She got some bursts of energy and suddenly shot like an arrow in the wind and galloped over the meadow. She stopped at the top of a hill to see if Elding would follow her happiness and play along with her.

Elding tossed his ebony mane joyously. He picked up a rollicking gallop, plowing through the snow after her. It was a majestic sight; though the two horses weren't extraordinarily tall, they had great presence. Both exuded the enormous strength of their ancestors, as they ran. With a loud whinny, he caught up to his love. "Ah, winter. Such a perfect season," he said dreamily. "Summer is alright, but unless it's in Sweden it just gets too hot." The stallion nuzzled her neck. He had all he could ever want- the love of his life, two beautiful daughters, a home. But was Strega happy? From what he knew of mares, they preferred being able to talk to each other. "Strega, do you want company? Of other mares, I mean. Since the others got stolen from us, you haven't had much mare company." He waited, standing still, for her answer.

Strega was taken back by this question." Well, Elding, I would love some mare company. It would be really fantastic, but where would we go to find some new mares? I mean, we can't leave the territory, some other stallion might come take it, but we probaly won't get to many mares walking through this place. Mares know that this place belongs to a stallion by smell. But if we could get a mare, I will have somone to gossip with, you know we mares, we talk about what's happening all the time. You stallions don't do that too much, do you?" Strega looked loivingly at Elding while waiting for his answer.

He laughed and shook his head. "No, gossip really isn't our thing," Elding answered lightly. "But I imagine it gets quite boring for you. Of course, Yrsa is a possibility, but I expect she'll be leaving the nest soon. She'll be four years old this spring, come to think of it..." He shook his head, and continued, "But i do not think that eaving for a short while will do any harm. And if someone dares to try taking our home, well, they'll have me to answer to. Unless, of course, we find a better place, which is not too likely at the moment. But the choice is entirely yours. We could stay here for a little while, if you like."

Strega shook her head when Elding said that Yrsa would leave the nest soon. Yrsa was Strega's first foal. Aska was her third. The second one didn't last. "No Elding, I would love to go, we don't have to wait. I just think it might get sort of dangerous since, even though I think you are the strongest and toughest horse on earth, you were not born to fight for mares like these wild horses, and, well....." She didn't want to say this, but it was only true,"I wouldn't want you to get hurt because there's a very big chance you will." Strega only hoped she didn't hurt Elding's feelings in any way.

Elding tossed his mane stoutly. "For you, my dear, I could defeat an army of trained stallions." In this he was adamant; he had lost his entire herd, and pined for them with his entire heart; Strega was the last link to that past, and had always been his lead, and he would never- ever- let anything happen to her. And if a single stallion dared lay a single hoof on a single hair on her head, he would personally rip that stallion to shreds. "So, what do you think? Should we go on a walk, see the sights, spend some time together, maybe meet some friends."

Strega gasped. Oh, she would LOVE to go see the sights and spend time with Elding alone! Ever since Yrsa came they had had no time together alone. Of course Strega loved Yrsa and would have been very sad if she hadn't had Yrsa but still. " Oh Elding! I would LOVE to go with you. I have always dreamed of seeing all the sights possible in this huge place, but have only seen one or two." Strega was so excited! She was finally going to see lots of new area's and places. So wonderful! " Yes Elding, let's go on a walk. Shall we go now?" Strega was having trouble containing her excitement. She had been with her foals for the past five years or so. Not that that was a bad thing. Foals were wonderful but sometimes you were under a lot of stress. No she was foal free and going with Elding. Still, she couldn't help worrying about Aska, just a little.

Elding smiled and nodded. "Then that's settled. Where would you like to go? Watering hole? Or the river? The river might be more dangerous, as there will be plenty of bachelor stallions about who could cause trouble, but there will also be more company, and maybe more interesting things to see. Your choice, my love." He gave her a loving buffet with his nose. No, he should not feel sad. He had lost the others, dear to him they all were, but he still had Strega, and two fine daughters. Life moved on. Maybe, one day, he would see those mares again, but until that day came if it ever did, he had to be happy with what he had. And he was- deeply, joyously, sublimely happy.

" Hmmm, the watering hole might be nice, but I think it would be fun to go to the river."said Strega teasingly. " Maybe take a little challenge, see how strong you really are." Strega nuzzled his shoulder and then his ear. Personally, she didn't really care where they went. Whatever they did was fine with her. She just wanted to see everything. " Just kidding, honey, honestly, I don't really care where we go. Anywhere you you want, darling." she said affectionaltly as she nipped his flank. " Where do you want to go? I'll go anywhere you want to go. Just tell me and off we go." Strega was to excited to care where they went.

Elding shrugged and nuzzled her back. "I vote we head to the river. Then can we not only find company, but I can prove that I am a mighty stallion," the horse answered in a tone just as teasing as hers. The big black tossed his billowing mane energetically, and picked up a rollicking gallop, plunging through the snow and plowing through fluffy drifts. He stopped, reared a little, and neighed loudly to her. "Well then, my dear, off we go through the glorious powder!" He loped back towards her, and pranced about, nickering happily. He loved his family and he loved winter. Could life get any better?

Strega smiled at Elding's river vote. He still had the same spirit and energy when Strega first met him! She gave a little buck, sending an inch of snow flying into the air and whistling down at top speed, landing as silent as a ghost on the ground. Strega's winter coat gleamed from the sun. But the gleam slowly went out like a candle as the sun disappeared behind the dark, heavy clouds. Strega bolted forward, flowing with the wind, her tail and mane flying wildly. Strega started galloping so fast she felt as if she were flying, a dun colored rocket whizzing around. Strega's sides where heaving, but she kept going. She finally slowed down at the top of a little hill, and stopped to wait for Elding, who was a black streak, flying through the white that was starting to engulf him, but he was faster than the snow and soon was up on the little hill, coming to a stop beside Strega.
